    Ok, so how does one determine a bent tie rod end? Obviously if it appears bent that's easy. I haven't done a ton of work on steering so I'm not totally sure. I know the alignment is pretty far out so I'm not surprised. I took the truck to Evans to get alignment done cuz I have the lifetime, I figured if something was wrong they would find it. I couldn't see anything obvious.
    I came down hard on the drivers side and figured if something was wrong it would be that side. They called and said it needed new inner and outer tie rods and it would be 300 and some change. I just said, ok cool, ill go ahead and replace them myself.
    I'm looking at it now and they say its the pass side thats bent, inner and outer. I dont see it, not at all. Is there a good way to check?

    more then likely its the inner tie rod thats bent. only way to real way tell is to compare it next to a non bent one.

    I know the alignment machines can tell sometimes, but really if its a slight bend and will align it comes down to if it is structurally sound. If you had it off I could have it x-rayed at work, or I've heard if you hit ii whether it rings or not means its cracked or not.

    But as far as finding the bend, just have to compare a good one I guess.

    Ill just change em. To the eye they look straight but I guess it don't take much.
    Must have bent the pass side when I hit the embankment, I thought it would have been the drivers side upon landing. At least it's just one side

    Pass side may have been the weaker one from a hit before or that tire may been in a position of less give. Shit breaks crazy sometimes. Glad your ok. Luckly your ABS keep you from skidding.

    I'm not sure, just from here to school is 880 mies for the school year, plus 700 miles out to arizona (round trip, and the trip isn't a for sure trip yet), plus around town driving (up to poway 2-4 times a month?) plus whatever mom and dad drive in my truck, so 5500-6,000? (from now till the end of middle-end of next year) plus the 2,000 mile drive back to MISS.

    I would go as street friendly as I could stand then. IMO. Your a ways from being worried about how they hold up down south.

    Thought about something like that with chromo and heims but I think the tie rods are a necessary weak link, if they are too beef the next weak link is pricier.

    Yeah, the KO's were pretty street able, I just want something more aggressive looking then the Dunlop touring LT that's on here now.

    I just did the 2 low mod, what's a reversible way to seal up the plugs? Saran Wrap and black tabe?
