I've come into a problem with re-wiring my 24v LEDs. The previous owner was running five 24v LEDS off of two 12v batteries and a battery isolater and some how getting it to work. I've been trying to do the same way he did it and can't seem to wire it correctly. If anyone can give me some tips it would be much appreciated

Also the battery isolator is a PAC-200 and the lights are truck-lite 24v 7" ten diode pattern

You can run car batteries in series to create a 24V system, this is what people who are restoring old vehicles with 24V systems do. Since the rest of the truck is 12V, that's not really a viable option. Your next option would be a convertor that will step 12V up to 24V but it will take away 1/2 the amperage. Depending on how much power you need, the convertors might not work for you. It'd be a whole lot easier to just get a set of 12V lights that actually work with the truck's electrical system.

You can also just run the lights on 12v... they just won't be exceptionally bright ;)

These lights were already on the truck when I bought it and the previous owner had them wired a certain way for them to work. I decided to rewirethe lights and now I cannot figure out how the PO had them wired

Was there no transformer box or something for them you might have disconnected re-wiring them?

Is this how you have your PAC unit wired? I'm not overly familiar with how it works but I think I sort of get the idea of how it's supposed to work

Is that how you have them wired, like in the PDF?

No transformer needed just wire the batteries in series to get the 24V. You only have to run one wire (fused) between the batteries for the lights and can leave the isolator in place. It just won't isolate the light circuit.

Yes. Just run the one 24v series circuit to the lights. Leave the rest as is.

No, I don't believe you can put the batteries in series, run 12V for the truck and 24V for the lights. Should be one or the other unless you add some hardware.

So one wire from positive to negative of the other battery and from the positive to the lights then from the lights to the negative of the first battery. Just make sure you fuse it.

Thinking about it. If the first battery is common grounded it might not work. Yeah disregard. If the first battery is common grounded it won't work.
