Nope, go back to your previous picture. You have the mirror controls, then your traction control to the right of it. To the right of that are 2 blank spots for buttons. One of them is for downhill assist, not sure what the other one is for. I thought it was a standard off road option but I guess not.

What I was told by the sales guy is that the downhill assist kicks in automatically, so I might be wrong but I guess there wouldn't be a button.:)

Too bad. I viewed a couple of YouTube links and it's definitely a nice feature to have.

    Gotta watch those sales guys...:)

Wonder if the switch was added?
Tires are 245/75-16... Offroad are 265/70-16

Not sure about the switch and tires. In fact, not sure about the spec sheets. The truck has a lot more options than are listed in those sheets. Also, I would like to see the trucks vin# attached to those sheets as well. Which it isn't. I will probe for a lot more info in the morning.

Anyway, here's a pic...sorry for editing the pic. It was a pita to find this thing and I don't want to risk...well you know... Just hope it all checks out.

    I think that's a legit TRD-OR.
The rims look right. The stickers aren't misplaced, and perhaps most important, there is no SR5 badge on the tailgate (the SR5 badge was dropped from the TRD models some time after '09, but a counterfeiter may not catch it).

Check the size on the tires... the spec sheet may not be correct. If you can get the VIN, one of the techs here can run it.

That seems like a very good deal. I would confirm that it is in fact a legit Off-Road.

I thought about that Rich, but I would like to at least give the owners a retainer before posting the vin on the web. Don't want to lose it. Or can this thing be tract down by simply posting the vin?

If this thing goes through I will let you know what I'm paying for the truck. You would not believe what they are willing to do for the price I'll be paying...nothing like shopping for a vehicle this time of year.:)

    You can always PM it.
Ask around for who can look it up.

But it's not likely that the VIN would be abused. It's possible, but it would take a dishonest dealer... he could cut and program a key for it.

Beyond that, it's the same as people blacking out serial numbers on guns they post. It's possible (and unlikely) for someone to file a false police report of a stolen vehicle, then days later, send the sale listing to the cops.
Doesn't work as easy for vehicles since the owner has a title.

Excellent info Rich. I will get a closer look at the tires and will push to get spec sheets w/the trucks vin written on the sheets. If not, then maybe I can pm someone.

    Thanks!

I have a 2013 Pre-runner TRD OR my tires are 265 70 16's. I would check for the AC outlet that a TRD would have on the passenger side of the bed close to the tail gate.

It looks legit and appears to have the rear locker that only a TRD OR would have but I would be concerned about the tire size. If it's a 2012 it's likely to have the original tires, if not why put on a smaller size and throw the speedo off? This is why I would be sure to
check for the AC outlet in the bed.

I bet there's a typo on the tire size, they are the stock rugged trails (fails) that come with the off-road. No one would buy those tires on purpose so I don't think they were changed. Obviously doing the deal from afar you want the vin and as many pictures as possible but it looks like your truck is legit.

It has the switch in the truck for the outlet so I assume it's in the bed, just make sure you get a picture to confirm.

Pretty sure Blasphemous read your original statement, he wasn't commenting on your current truck you're looking at.

    Todays to-do list;
    • Check tire size
    • Check C-bed AC outlet
    • Verify spec sheets
    • Get pic of undercarriage
Can you guys think of anything else?

Gotcha on Blasphemous comment. Ya 16k for this truck would be a good deal. :)

I'm going to add a few more pics. Maybe they'll add more clues.

Hopefully he sent you a bunch of pics of the exterior as well, to make sure there's no major blemishes. Engine bay looks good. Definitely has the tow package, you can see part of the oil cooler under the filter.

I can't think of anything else other than a test drive.

Brad - They sent a ton of pics. Just waiting for the undercarriage shots and the ones mentioned above. I certainly agree on the test drive. Although this thing is a long ways away. One of the stipulations is that I can walk away if not satisfied once it arrives...in writing BTW. In addition, it has ~17k miles.

Here are a few more pics. ?Would the back-up camera be listed on the options? The camera is listed in the options...my bad.

If there are any other pics you can think of l will see if I have them or ask they be sent to me.

Can you guys also show me where it states the OR package comes w/265/70-16's?

    Thanks!
