Trifecta Install Issues.. Need Help!!

I know this is not where i start at.. but i started taking pics thinking it would be quick and easy and wanted to do a how to.. i guess now its gonna How not to!

Brackets dont line up in the front.


And the tightining nobs dont have anywhere to connect bc the top part that is connected to the actual tonneau cover doesnt slid in or out

 

going to have lunch ill be back later.. if anyone has any tips or advice please please share

 

no advice...just pulling up a chair to occasionally toss popcorn at you.

 

I dont see where the problem is. The metal brackets in the rails move to line things up. the clamps that you tighten the T nut up on to move in and out to compensate also. The threaded bolts are not strait up and down on my extang. but then again i dont use the metal brackets in the rails, I just tighten the top with the clamps in the rails.

Elaborate a little on the exact trouble areas if the above didnhelp at all.

 

I think the white balance on your phone or camara is set to fluorescent lighting, ie the blue color.

 

Thats a very basic install. I did this last weekend. Just read the instructions and you'll be fine. Here's how I did mine. First lay the cover on the bed. Make sure it is lined up the way that it looks good. Then fold it back three times to the closed position towards the rear window. Screw the silver clamps up front in the bed rail system making sure they line up with the screw in bolts of the cover. Then tighten the bolts on the front of the cover to the clamps your just installed. Now close the cover completly. Make sure it still fits properly. Now screw in the other two silver clamps into the bed rail system towards the rear of the cover. Make sure they line up with the rear clamps built into the cover. You haul out the rear clamps in the cover and press them into the silver claps in the bed rail system. And thats it. sorry if I suck at explaining but I think your really thinking about the install way to hard.

As for the weather stripping. Mine never came off like yours. But I'm sure its an easy fix with some good glue.

 

The problem I am having is that the tightning brackets at the front are at an angle kinda like "/" instead of up and down like "l" so the clip and the bottom wont reach the metal part to grab ahold

If you look at it here you can see that its not parallel with the metal bracket its at an angle.. and the part that connects to the tonneau cover doenst slide out its stationary..


gopnna try to tighten the clip to jsut the bed rail instead of the the brackett

 

thats how my solid fold clamps on. but the hardware may still be a little "/" instead of " l " strait up and down

Mine are on an angle just like yours. No problems with mine though. I'll try and take pics. Just gotta figure out how to upload em.

 

Yeah it doesn't look good. Take everything off and start over. My clamps are all on a bit of an angle, but the cover is straight on and seals well. Put the cover on the bed, unfolded, and line it up right. Fold it up to the cab and install the first set of brackets in line with the tighteners. Put the front ones on first, not too tight and unfold. Make sure it is still in line, then fold it up one fold, and line up the rear brackets with the clamps. Put it on again and clamp it up, making sure it is still lined up. Go back and tighten everything up front again, all the way so that it has a good tight seal. Then clamp the back clamps on again. You can use a socket to tighten the rear clamps up a bit. Will post pics asap.

 

The little buldges are where the cover folds. Not exactly pretty but I like the function

That doesnt help... maybe instead you could suggest how to fix it.

 

Just a thought, since it would seem to me by the pictures that if it where completely vertical you wouldn't have clearence to turn the "t-handle". I sell aftermarket products and see ridiculous things like this all the time. If the cover is tight and square I wouldn't worry about. Sometimes I wonder who engineers this stuff. Possibly wrong on this but you may find out it is the way they intended.
