Got under my truck with a wire brush yesterday . First time since I bought it new in 09 . More rust than I expected ,but lots less than my 96. I highly recomend taking a look under yours. Winter in on the way. Thinking about getting a new set of wheels to go with the new Duratracs. like the flat black TRDs .

Well normally I would say it's only August, and winter is far away. But the weather so far is saying otherwise... Although I wish it was like this all the time.

 

Already been under my truck, LOTS of rust, don't care I've spot treated with rattle can and still on the fence about using fluid film to treat it.

Just a suggestion, but you have steel wheels now, why not run them in the winter and keep the TRD wheels for summer? The salt will just eat up the TRD wheels.

Like your thought on a spring wheel change instead of now. Might buy them now & put them on in March. I am looking at a good deal that keeps calling to me .

Yeah, keep your steelies for the winter and keep the TRD wheels for the summer. They'll stay looking nice for a long time that way, let the steel wheels take the abuse from the salt.
