Did a different version of the ext breather mod.....

Ran the air line to the charcoal canister vacuum line to get a little vacuum draw and lower the pressure in the axle. Seems to have helped since I'm no longer going through pinion seals every week. :woot:

That would literally be my nightmare.

Quick question to those running guard dogs... If I was to get them in the relatively stock size of 265/70 R16 size would it be a comparable kill in my MPG's to 33"s? It seems like these tires are the best bang for my buck but I heard they also are very heavy. I don't off road a lot but when I do I am usually in sandy/mucky water. I can't afford to lift it for a while so I figured an aggressive stock sized tire may be able to get the job done?

I'm removing any unused wiring (Power windows/doors, ABS, cruise control, etc. None of which I have.) rerouting what I'm keeping, and probably adding some for switches, lights, etc.

Actually, more importantly the evacuating water, siping improves traction by creating more edges in the treads to grip the road surface. Helps most on hardpack snow/ice.

Also, most tires shops will not sipe them like that photoshopped picture. The will just do a series of cuts straight across the tread. When they first do the cuts they are almost invisible but open up a bit over time.

Here's an example of a Siped BFG KM2. This was the day I bought the tires at Discount Tire and had them siped. As you can see the siping is almost completely invisible.
    _MG_1444_f1b0d3c6f76a92e3c84b7df9a0556521b8bdca09.jpg

But they did open up slightly over time. The photoshopped pic that was posted earlier is more like "grooving" which is done with a hot cutting knife to remove wider sections of tread. That works well on tires with LARGE tread blocks like super swampers. On a tire like KM2's it can cause chunking where chunks of the tread blocks tear away when offroad. Siping is much smaller cuts and it for better traction on wet/icy road conditions more than it is to reduce hydroplaning.

This pic is several thousand miles later on the same tires. If you look closely you can see the siped edges in the tread.

Does anyone know if trail gear accepts debit cards or not? I tried to place an order and it wouldn't work so I called them and the person I talked to didn't know why the order wouldn't go through. Now im wondering if the reason is because they don't accept debit cards?
