Ok, so I lost my license back in December due to me being a dumbass. So my truck has been sitting for 7 months and come Thursday I will be able to drive again and was wondering what I should do in the lines of fluid changing..I know I have to change the oil but are there any other precautions I should make.

Wow it sat unused for the entire time?
Maybe drain the gas or use alchohol to make sure there is no water in there. Should be ok if the tank was full but still could get water in there. If it has been used on and off then I say routine service.

It would probably be a good idea to change all of the oils, grease the zerks, make sure no critters have turned the aircleaner into a home. FWIW, I had a Toyota Tercel sit for a year in someones back yard for the same reasons. I didn't do anything to it(young, dumb, irresponsible) before I started driving it again and it was fine.

it was driven periodically by my moms bf. I say it was ran about 20 times in the past 7 months..And what do you mean by routine service? I would like to try and do everything myself, I mean I change my own oil but that is about all I have done. If its an easy enough task I will change other fluids just which ones is the question..

You don't need to do anything. Just get some fresh gas in it and enjoy driving again.

    youll be fine.
just fresh gas, since gas with ethanol (the WORST idea... lets put some f-ing CORN in our cars) will have seperated into water by now (takes a month or two) and so the old gas will cause harm to the taco.

Yeah. Just drive it. I let my 98 ranger sit for a year and all I had to do was jump start it. Ran fine.

You'll be fine then. Driving it periodically over the 7 months is a good thing.

    Check your tire pressure.....

My Jeep would sit for months on end and sometimes we'd just start it up and let it run for 15 minutes while sitting in the garage (door open of course).

thanks for the input, I have a set of new tires to put on. The tires on it now are pretty dry rotted and lacking tread.

If it was driven then she's a go. Just get some gas, install the tires, and maybe change the oil.

Hah, that would be all I need. If I could afford one and had another vehicle I would consider it..I forgot to mention I have mobil 1 synthetic in her while she's been sitting all this time..
