Sucks that you got hit but I don't see any real damage, I see scratches and a piece of plastic out of place. If you get a new plate bumpers worth out of it you should feel fortunate.

Just curious in your pic looks like you don't have a hitch . Thought all the 4x4's and prerunners were coming with the factory hitch installed.

Sucks this happened to you, but it could be much worse. If I were you, I would get an estimate at a Toyota dealer, tell them you want a new bumper, not a repair. Take that estimate to her insurance, and get a check. Buy the bumper and install it yourself. It's pretty simple especially since it doesn't require painting. As far as the chip on the bedside, IMO, it would be easier to just touch it up, it will never be the same after the body shop removes and repaints pieces, for something so small. You may want to check the bedside though, and just make sure it didn't buckle at all. Check the gap where the flare meets the bedside, and see if it looks larger or out of whack.
As far as the diminished value, I have never dealt with that, but as another poster said, I don't think they would pay for something minor like that.

Agreed it coulda be a lot worse. I'm just glad the wife and I are ok. Her parents got rear ended by someone doing like 60 while they we sitting at a red light so it scared her bad. I've been in worse. So all I was thinking about was my new truck just hit!(of course after I checked on the wife)

I got the base model 4x4 they don't come installed on them ( correct me if I'm wrong) unless someone order it from the factory or got the dealer to install them. Which my dealer just goes through uhaul and gets them to do em. I got the base model with nothing on it not even carpet;) because I don't need all the bells and whistles (From factory). I'm slowly building the truck the way I want it.

I agree. Like I said its more a mental thing that my baby (truck) got hit. But I hear ya. I'm going in the morning to work everything out. I checked all the gaps and the frame earlier and everything is even and not buckled up anywhere. So it should be ok. I just don't want a hit on the car fax or anything like that(which if it does and it lowers my trade in or value I would just like the difference). Which I think isn't asking too much.. I mean its not like I did it..

Well since it was an old lady you can't go full marine on her ass. Instead just get an aftermarket bumper

That's what I replaced mine with. Except I didn't add the side pieces, and I had it finished with linex

That one is nice! I dont want to cut anything on my new truck.. if i did that my wife would probably cut me hahah Now only if it had a swing gate for it so I could put some fuel cans and maybe a tire on it

No. I haven't been towing anything so I didn't buy it. I figured if I ever started having to tow anything I would buy it.

2 grand? What did they write up? New bumper, what else? You can get that bumper with all the plastic pieces for less than 300 bucks. Take the extra 1700 and buy something nice, take the wife to dinner. You can probably even sell that old bumper.
