Dude you need 4wd, 2wd is for the Desert! Or just make it a long day of being pulled around on every hard spot. However if you air down to 14 psi with the locker you will have a much better chance of getting around.

Also mud terrains help greatly especially if your 2wd just to get a bit more bite!

Too bad its such a nightmare to convert the 2wd over to 4x.

In my Jeep I can do pretty good in 2wd with a locker in most places, however the hills are really rutted and hardpacked with sand on top so SUPER silppery, and normally need 4wd for any of the half decent hills.

You should just head on over to LW and try it out amd stay on the easy stuff and take a GPS so you can find your way out, then you need no help, just be smart about it, if you want to go so bad, just do it!!

I do it all the time, I ride my dirtbike 95% of the time solo and the Jeep I go alone as well. But I am fine by myself so I dont really care. I just bring some tools and cell phone, so far so good! Should be plenty of mild stuff starting from the back of the AM/PM off Deer Springs, just go and have fun and just take the easier trails, what are you waiting for?

Where I normally go you wouldnt stand a chance to be honest, would be a trial wreck.

Do it and then you can quit living vicariously through others, lol. I can see you wanna go play, I would have went by myself a long time ago, but thats me..

    Why, you still local?

My only problem with LW is the fact that it's private property. I can't afford an impounded vehicle at the moment lol. Otherwise I'd be all over that. Guess I'll just go run the Otay truck trail and hope for some whoops

But you'd be able to afford the repairs of a broken truck or potentially getting so stuck you'd need a company to pull you out.

    Play it safe man.

Eventually I'm gonna get a whip for my CB, is there any issue to mounting in the rear bumper and when I'm not on the trail tying the end of the whip into the bed?

Sweet the whip is on my list, right after the sliders, which are right after the skids for my quad, which should get ordered this week

Anybody know where I can get a floormat (carpet, stock tacoma) for the right rear of my truck? I'm missing that one and the rest are in very good shape and I like the way they look.

Anybody know squat about bed liners? I'm thinking of going with line-x, my black truck has rhino lining in it and its coming off the top o the tailgate.

Also, how do I know what recalls have been done on my truck? Email the stealership with the VIN? I'd really like to know if the ball joints have been replaced.

There is a video on a MTB web site of the day they tried to winch it and almost lost a Jeep too and the owner says " it's only worth $1500 and I only have liability insurance so the truck is free to anyone that can get it out " :) I wonder how they got it out ? That road is blocked at the bottom with a steel wall and there are a couple places on inside curves where the road is collapsed over the cliff and there is barely enough dirt to ride a bike on ? Did they pull it back up the trail uphill ?
