So the dealer told me a lovely story today about my amazing Toyota Warranty...a whistle that happens at cruising speeds develops on the windshield of my 2012 Tacoma...first time this happened they replaced the weatherstripping around the windshield which required a new windshield as well as they usually break during removal for the stripping...well again my 2012 which just had the job done like 6 months ago started whistling again and the dealer says it will likely have to come out of my pocket since Toyota replaced the windshield under warranty once already...my current windshield is perfect and no cracks...care to comment on the joyous Toyota Warranty? Truck will be getting serviced at Heninger Toyota in Calgary FYI once parts are in and I will not be paying for a problem which Toyota could not fix properly the first time.

I'd print out T-SB-0062-12 and ask to be in the truck when they do the tape test. If you're still getting noise then they may have incorrectly performed the TSB

I have video of the noise again and they've acknowledged that its a TSB and that its a warranty issue however are saying that because it was already done once...they "may not" cover it again.

Also they said they wouldn't know if it would be covered until the work is done...really? You don't know right now? Comeon don't give me that crap.

Also the original fix lasted about 6 months or something...mind you less than 10,000km and I've only got 25,000km total and the truck is in the garage/underground parking 95% of the time and rarely in the elements...heck I've never even had the thing offroad unless you count a grassy hill...

I must be lucky- mine has only whistled twice since I picked it up. It takes an extreme crosswind coming across the passenger front corner to get it to sing.

    Yes we do.
But I don't think a wind whistle, no matter how annoying, is enough to be classified as a lemon.
What the truck needs is to have the TSB performed again, on Toyota's dime, by a tech that understands the cause and solution to the problem.

I have had my headlight assembly replaced 3 times because crecent shaped cracks appear on them......all covered by warranty. I dont see why they would not cover it.

I have raised the issue with Toyota Canada and will be getting the work done at this dealer (different dealer than previous). I will not pay for this since...it will be covered by warranty one way or the other but I should not have to fight or argue about it...dealer should without question say "we'll take care of it".

    Not really

While there are no "lemon laws" in Canada, there are measures in place to help if you think you may have purchased a defective vehicle.

Mine whistles all the time! I just turn the tunes up and drown it out! I figured I was the only one with this prob! Guess they all do it!
