It's a very very very long drive. If you're to do it, my number one suggestion, take A LOT of time to do it. My wife and I were totally burnt out by the end of it. Amazing drive of course, but so much to see.

I'll be posting some pics of some recent changes later on next week when I get the time, and at some point given this weeks availability of time I'll be posting up a link to a short film I'm making.

Are you talking specifically fenders or box sides at the rear? I wouldn't suggest doing any cutting if your box isn't rusted, especially your fenders. To date I've seen very few people do a good job cutting their fenders and even then you can tell they're cut because the box sides look flimsy. Besides, I can stuff 33's up in the wheel wells no problem and with these trucks 33's is really all you need. I cut my box sides which I'm still on the fence about; on one hand I don't mind it, on the other hand my box wasn't rusted therefore leaving myself no good reason to cut. I thought that it would give me better clearance for steep inclines, but honestly if you're not doing some serious crawling a low profile bumper, much like the one you already have, will be all you need. Just remember that it's way easier to take away than to put back on, you make a mistake you either look at it constantly or you get a new box. You don't have to take my advice obviously but I'll toot my own horn and say that I've had pretty extensive experience with this kind of thing this being my second truck, the previous truck being a two year, $25000 dollar money sink that went through every iteration a truck can go through before being changed over to a full buggy. Ok...that was long winded, that's my two cents.

So I decided that my tent rack was a little cumbersome for aggressive wheeling (ei. too high, too big, etc); therefore, I redesigned it. I wanted a headache rack and to be able to store the rack easily due to space constraints. This is how it turned out.

The rack comes apart into four pieces, it slots into the back of the headache rack and then into the piece going over the box in the back.

I also built small detachable brackets which I can mount a bike on either side of the box.

It work's great man. My design isn't bullet proof but it's awesome for short trips, I can almost store more in the bed now that I don't have to worry about fitting a bike under the rack. Only problem with the headache rack though is that I can't get the last spring rod in closest to the so my window flap can't go up.

yea only thing i was gonna do different for the bike rack is have the front mount run paralell with the bed rail so the handle bars didn't stick out super wide.

and there is always gonna be some sort of compromise ha
