    Hey -

Do you guys know of a single place to look for the random programming mods? If not, add your tricks to this list.

I'm not sure who discovered this one, but the seat belt mod remains classic, and the man who uncovered it should be canonized. From memory:

    - turn on (key on, but no engine) truck
    - rotate odometer setting to "odo"
    - turn off truck
    - turn on
    - hold odometer button for 12s
    - while holding, insert seat belt
    - "b-on" should appear on the odometer screen
    - release button
    - press button once to get "b-off" on odometer screen

Enjoy the silence! This works on at least the 2nd Gen Tacos and the FJ Cruisers.

This ones been around the forum alot lately. Doesn't work on 05-07 because we don't have a beep :p Not sure if the 08's do, think so though.

I would love the program for a "one push keyless entry, unlock all 4 doors"

I would love confirmation that this actually works on a 05-07.

What does this do? Get rid of the beep if you drive around without your seatbelt?

It worked on my friend's 07 FJ and my 09 Taco. Logic says that an 08 4Runner that shares a ton of parts with the other two ought to work.

I drive with a seatbelt on ALL the time so it's not really an issue. I'd love to know more of these little programing tricks though if anyone has any available!

    +rep for the insight

Not quite. I'm only alive because of seat belts and airbags. But I do like setting my PC on my seat when I drive to work, or groceries on the way home without being screamed at by Mother Toyota.

The seatbelt chime, while handy, isn't the main reason I created the thread. I want to know about the rest of the tricks like that. For instance, is there a way to:
    • Disable the VSC while in 4Hi?
    • Get rid of the beeping when I use the key fob?
    • Change the time that dome light stays on? (possible on VW)
I want to see things like this.

It's solidly annoying. On long trips, I like to sit in the back right seat while my GF drives with my feet on that seat, which is just enough pressure to activate the alarm.
