I bought a '98 very low mileage TJ Sport in 2000. Soft top, 5 speed, inline 6cyl. First upgrade was wheels and tires. Loved that Jeep. Only problems i ever had were heater related, ie, replaced water pump and radiator, and power flush to clean core, and replaced the soft top once. Put all aftermarket audio gear in including an amp and sub. That dude would bump. Traded it in July of 2011 on a brand new '11 JKU Sport. I think TJ had around 76K on the odo, I have a company work truck so not a daily driver. I liked this Jeep but didn't have the love for like my TJ. Really liked the 4 doors and all the new found storage room in the JKU. It was great for throwing the fly fishing gear in the back and taking off, secure and dry. But, Death Wobble is real. Had JKU in the shop twice for DW. Both times they replaced Steering Stabilizer. I argued with Service Manager that SS was not the fix, but retorquing junk underneath Jeep was temporarily fixing problem (excellent write ups on Jeep forums about fixing DW), and new SS were masking problems. All was done under warranty so I was just going to keep taking it back until they got it fixed. Then on June 1 of this year, my wife and I are out fitter-farting around and cruised through the Toyota lot. Next thing you know we a signing papers on a brand new 2013 TRD-OR DCSB. I love my truck. Jeeps hold their value very well I might add. Owed about 18K and they gave me 26K(then stuck it on the used lot for over 32K) Had just over 16K on odo on JKU. There are things I miss about not having a Jeep but really like being back in a truck. I don't do a lot of wheelin' so won't be doing a bunch of extreme mods. If that were the case, probaly would have stuck with the Jeep. I do have a bed cover on the short list though. Well, that's my 75 cents(inflation you know).

New jeeps seem much better out of the box than the 2nd gen Tacoma.

    I have a better built 1st gen for a reason. :D

    Chris,

You still have your Rubicon? Eyeing up a new Jeep Scrambler yet?? Makes this thread kind of a moot point now
