I have a 2011 Tacoma TRD Sport, double cab. Current tire size is 265/65/17. What I'm thinking about doing is putting on a Readylift SST lift kit, it'll raise the front end about 3 inches and the rear end around 2 inches. I also plan on putting on bigger tires, 285/70/17. I'm just wondering if you guy's think this set-up will work and what are the pros and cons? Thanks for the help.

Pros are you'll achieve the look you want.

Cons are you will still have to trim/pound/cut some things to make 285s fit if you plan on leaving pavement and that readylift won't exactly be your most durable or reputable option.

Welcome to TW. It would probably help a lot if you could post a link to the lift you are referring to, that way members can see what you are looking at. Also it would be helpful to describe what it is you plan to do with the truck, is it mainly for looks? Do you go off-road a little? Off-road a lot, easy fire roads or do you want to climb mountains on hard trails.

That's the link to the lift kit. It's mainly for looks, but once in awhile, when I have time, I do like to go off road. So, I would say, off road a little.

What's your budget, Ryan? If you don't mind me asking that is.

If you can spring a little more some Bilstein 5100s and an AAL or Old Man Emu set up may treat you better in the ride, durability, capability and longevity department.
If you did the Billy's and an AAL I can't imagine you'd be too much over the cost of the ready lift.

Also, with 285s, I don't personally know anyone who didn't have to do a little trimming of this or that, just a heads up. There are those who claim they didn't but they also probably don't stuff their tires too often I'm assuming. Just sharing what I've seen around here. I hope others chime in and help ya out with their experience also.

"Suspension Leveling and Mild Kits are one of the most popular aftermarket products for Toyota truck owners. Leveling systems not only transform trucks like the Tacoma into taller, better looking vehicle, but they also provide a more commanding view of the road. SST Lift Kits from ReadyLift® Suspension Inc., the leader in suspension leveling and lift systems, are the most economical and safe method of altering vehicle ride height, which also allows the consumer to upgrade his tires to a preferred larger size. Nothing looks better than a truck fit with an aggressive stance and that is exactly what ReadyLift® Smart Suspension Systems (SST) provide!

ReadyLift® Suspension Inc. has used their proven technological engineering methods to produce a SST Suspension Lift System for the 2005-2013 Six-Lug Toyota Tacoma trucks (P/N 69-5056) that lifts the truck 2.75"-3.0" and includes a new tapered 2.0" rear lift block. The intermediate Smart Strut Technology system fits all 2005-2012 Tacoma and Prerunner models including both 2WD and 4WD models. This kit provides the owner with the opportunity to upgrade to larger wheel and tire combinations up to 33-inches in diameter while retaining the great stock ride and handling characteristics. 32.5" tire diameter is recommended. In order to fit 33" tires you will have to do some minor trimming of the inner fenderwell. For information about tire and wheel sizes please visit the ReadyLift"

1.) it says its the safest way to lift; it's not.

2.) says right there to run a 32.5 or if you choose a 33 you'll have to trim.

    Just a heads up.

265-75-16. 32" I could go bigger but I'm on the road a lot and 33" tires would probably kill my fuel mileage

Those would also fit stock, with no lift that is, and save you wear and tear and FE if you took the lift out.
