2 wth is "turns off the rest of the day like until the next morning" ?

Welcome to tacoma world, when you disconnect the battery while the truck is running it wants to die?
Or after you disconnect the battery and reconnect it the truck wants to die?

I think what you're asking is "Why does my truck die when I unplug the battery?"

If so, why are you disconnecting the battery while the truck is running in the first place?

Or, If you are checking the alternator and the truck dies while unplugged, you have a bad alternator.

In simple terms, the battery only produces juice to the vehicle when the motor is not running. Once running, the alternator produces a current within the coil and recharges the battery, this is how you maintain +/-13 Volts when running the motor. After you turn the motor off, the power source is switched back to the battery. This is why your battery will die if you leave a light on overnight or leave the stereo playing for too long.

If I am wrong, or you meant something else, let me know. I'm sure others could chime in too as long as we understand what you are asking.
