I just wanna find a good shop that can actually do it and not just tell me they did the 'best they could'.

I was a little disappointed with Firestone...specifically stated that I had loose lug nuts, picked up my truck and two wheels are still being held on by hand tight lugs. Went back and found it had been originally annotated, the tech just didn't check...ran in and snagged a torque wrench and did it myself. Needless to say, probably won't be going back to that shop ever again.

 

FWIW I don't think anyone gets the "perfect" alignment numbers they want or expect, actually his statement of "best they could" is probably an honest answer Jeff, as far as the other issues , yeah he shoulda checked ...

 

Dad took my truck into work today,filled it up on his way home and on the first tank we owned the truck we got 16.666 MPG (with a very aggressive driver and a semi aggressive driver driving)

i tried all of the top end alignment shops around town a lot of them have disappointed me. and since i work on a lot of cars / trucks involving a lot of suspension work i pick shops based on their accuracy, time efficiency, customer service and cost. at times i even do my own alignment depending on my hook ups at certain shops

check out these guys, i used them a few times to have a race spec alignment done on my rice rocket for track days and they have always been on point and i even get to sit in the car while they align it and verify the numbers when they are done.

heading out in 10 mins. going up pine valley catching the 14S02 all the way to Laguna/desert lookout, making a right coming back down via pine creek rd. Stopping at Viejas on way down to get my free money, then home

 

You could always do the alignment yourself. Stack some vinyl tiles under your tires until all your tires are level with each other. Then use a digital angle finder and a measuring tape to get all your specs right.

 

took mine to the truck shop, they use a place down a few blocks from them, wheel and truck go hands off straight.

 

That's what I did, worked like a charm.... Only thing is my steering wheel is crooked as a mf! Toe is good tho. Didnt bother trying to fix it lol to impatient for that.

Honestly, I don't even think there's a piece of truly level ground near my apartment lol. And really id rather just pay someone to do it who knows what they're doing, or a least knows how to work the machine that knows what it's doing lol.

Not sure what the problem is, it's not like you are LT they can use the laser on yours.

 

I think with the Maxtrac spindles + TC uppers its giving me alot of castor? I forget which I'm off, but the guy at firestone said he couldn't get one of them totally in spec. so my tires will always be /TACO\ like that. Which I think might be BS. I thought I read somewhere that they can't get lifted trucks in spec because of the template they use or something...I dunno...I just wanna be able to drive straight and occasionally take my hands off the wheel and NOT go veering across the freeway like an Asian lady testing her blinker.

 

I know, its when you finally achieve LT that the douche tools come out

That rear does work. LOL I hit a couple banks staring at the rear end instead of driving. Luckily there was someone in front of you or it would have been a short show or hard me to stay close enough to watch. I thought if was shifting at first but when the tire moves as much as yours the eyes play tricks on you.

 

The late 60's early 70's firebird was not allow to outrun the Camaro. So Pontiac put a throttle stop clip on the carb so the "as sold" hp was lower they chevy. Pulling the clip added around 40 hp. Also Pontiac made the GTO without chevy knowing, since they were made they were allowed to sell "some" and chevy was mad they out sold the chevelle. The first wide track was just factory wheel spacers because some high up guy in Pontiac thought the narrow stance looked stupid. Poor Ole N-aahh I mean Pontiac's are cool, miss mine.
