Thats pretty accurate , most all GM cars (except chevy) were notoriously under cammed.

I did alot of street light to street light & for the short runs the camaro was damned hard (if not immpossible) to beat, the freeways were another story, if you went up against a T/A more than likely you'd have your ass handed to you...ahhh SD-455 nuttin' like a big block

The last firebird i had was a '76 with the smog motor (400) was pretty much a dog, so i pulled a 455 out of a wrecked '71 Grand Ville , dropped it in & proceeded to melt tires again (10.5 -1 cpmpression stock)

 

That was a tight fit, a 455 is a very wide motor

I'm looking for a front plate bumper
Needs: ability to have a winch, 2 spots for shackles
Wants: light tabs, hoops (center and headlights), ability to keep stock skid (not sure if possible)

 

I'm confused looking for a lift, I want roughly 2.5" so I don't tear up my CV's, and my budget is $400 (maybe more, depends on how well my black truck sells)
OME 882's 2.5"+ to tall? And people say they don't handle weight well
Eibachs 3.0? To tall
Billie 5100 set at 2.5 rides rough apparently, and stock coils won't hold bumper
So it sounds like I should find a set of used CO's to rebuild, but those might be out of budget

 

Just save up money and get the good stuff the first time around so you don't waste time and money down the road again

& yeah its been real clear out here at night for meteor showers, didn't go last night but going tonight...

& FWIW Mcgrath is a bit of a tool, he owns what used to be Thing Valley ranch & he could've done the right thing & unlock the gate from Mnt. Laguna to allow public access to the I-8 like it used to be....
