I feel like the snorkel on SWB/total SWB ratio is a lot closer to 1 than most collors

but really, it would help. trophy trucks are two wheel drive, but a number of them keep their filters back in the cab for dust and ocasionally water.

 

So at the risk of completely jinxing myself, i think i've found a foolproof way to hook the snorkel to the Volant air box.

Ordered a 4'' to 3.5'' reducer online that came in today (the red one). pulled a straight 3'' to 3'' connection from my old intake, and then picked up a piece of 3'' pipe, and a piece of 3.5'' pipe. I'm fairly sure the 4'' side of the red reducer will clamp directly onto the filter box. Then (in theory), all i have to do is pick the piece of pipe that the black 90 degree elbow, that comes with the snorkel, fits best.

I plastic welded a PVC toilet flange from Home Depot to the AFE air box because the original inlet hole was oval.

Necessity being the mother of invention and all that...

 

gotta do what you gotta do, if it works it works. a number of years ago, i had my hood scoop hooked up to be functional. there was at least one shop vac component in thay setup

 

That setup is long gone Ant... I went back to a stock air box back over the winter.

I was never 100% satisfied with the way it was & I know most of the folks who did the mod went with a stock intake.

It works.

So what's it gonna take to get a snorkel grill made up and sent to kansas?

the M0 obviously has larger holes, but with the M1 having the smaller holes, closer together, what do you think has more open space per unit area?

 

It's all the same pretty much...

 

Let's go with the M0 then. larger holes will clog slower if it starts snowing and i can't get out to spin the scoop.

gotta make sure i convince myself the decision was based on function, not aesthetics

 

Is that how you justify most things in your truck?
