Speaking of serving the country, seems my 17 yr old is set on joining the Air Force when he graduates. He's been a Civil Air Patrol cadet for a little while now and really enjoys it. Maybe it will make him grow up a little. Say a prayer.

Good for him! The chairforce is a good organization to get into. They take care of their people, and the added responsabilities will help grow him up some. My good friend is a SERE instructor, and he'll be in for life.

99.5% of the jobs are on the ground My brother-in-law used to arm the fighters, loved it, wished he'd never gotten out. My second cousin joined the USMC as a flight mechanic on the CH-53's. Seems to like it. My wife was a flight medic. Anything related to flying is fun.

Baby sister went in straight from high school and never looked back.

Started in office and quickly became one of NH's top recruiters until she went Air Guard,then a Retention Specialist for the guard...just retired after a great career ,her husband is still a NHANG mechanic and their son gets school paid for by UNCLE ...

Air Force has been very NICE to them....
