ARB and XRC 8

I found my tires were at 30 psi... Maybe this contributed to my sucky mpgs before I ever did anything... After the ARB was put on it was like driving through a sand hill.... I upped to 45 all around and it drives MUCH better... I'll probly lower the back to 40

 

Search for and do the "Chalk line test" I haven't done it myself but it's "the best way".

 

Sweet. I did my own sort of chalk test by driving down a gravel road and getting the white all over the tires etc... Seems like 45 is good for me. Plus on my trip back from VA this past weekend I got >22.5 MPG with my ARB on too!

 

Tim, what do you have for a suspension setup? I have seen an OME online that looked really good with a bumper and sat up nicely, but I've been considering a 4" suspension lift or even a 6".... I just would rather not have a ton of body roll or the expense of another lift to put on.

 

I've got OME 886 up front and a custom leaf pack I made in the rear, Nitro charger shocks all around. (My sig pic has stock suspension)

 

Oh wow, that is awesome! I definitely need to to see that in person before I pull the trigger on anything. Maybe next month at the meet....

Pro Comp springs sound nicer than the OEM tacoma ones... I can't afford a new lift right now, but this is doable... Would you recommend this? I would of course just keep everything I have from my readylift on there and just replace the coils... Maybe buy an AAL while I'm at it.

I would not put procomp on my truck. Just my personal preference.

 

Hey so my tires are cupping like crazy... It has been aligned probably 3 times to no avail.... I need uca's or a db lift.... I can't see spending 700 on uca's and another 850 on OME886 setup.... I think I'm gonna just drop 1k ok a db lift and have it put on and run stockers on spacers.... It's gonna look goofy but I don't know anything else financially sound to do and get what I want accomplished.

 

How are your wheel bearings?

 

Honestly, I don't even know. How would I check that? Also it always appeared to me that the wheels had a lot of negative camber. I always figured it was just an optical illusion bc of the shape of the stock bumper. But if I was high, the I'd think the bumper would bring it back into alignment... Maybe I should go ahead and put the winch on there and bring it down some more? I mean this is cool and all that all this is happening so that I kinda "have" to "fix" it by installing all this stuff I wanted to anyways, but my pockets are definitely not deep lol

 

You can jack up the front and "wiggle" your tire up and down to check the bearings.
What do your alignment numbers look like, you should always get a print out.
