She's going to be home on maternity leave any day now, I won't be able to get away with anything for a while and I don't dare to it before then for fear of irritating her. Before you start laughing, ever piss off a pregnant lady? It's not pretty and I just calmed her down after she came home and caught me with my headlights in the brand new oven

That's my plan, I have a shell that heats up pretty well on a hot day.

I seriously wish there was a legal way to do this without going the short barrel rifle route...I'd conceal carry it

i dont see why you couldnt if you made a new receiver the rest of the parts you could just transfer it over

Making the receiver is the hard part...I work in a machine shop and could probably do it, but the time is t worth it to me lol

You mean you'd carry it cause I don't think you'll have much luck trying to conceal it

I work in a machine shop so I technically could...but that wouldn't be much different price wise than shortbarreling one, shop time is 60$ an hour

    Why not?

Was getting pressure with the loads I was using. Couldn't get the velocity I was hoping for. So, hopefully I can get higher velocities with a lighter load with the longer barrel. Too much vertical spread with the case that full. Been especially busy this year at work so haven't gotten chance to develop a load yet. Prob wrong get to start til next year. It would've been easier to build a 308 bolt gun to be competitive but, figured I'd be different.

so i googled since this reply apparently the practice it to take two receivers but both in half and weld them back together then the receive is a virgin new build so you dont have to really to any machining

Interesting, maybe I can cut 2 of them in half at work with a wire EDM and get a very precise cut with minimal metal loss then weld them together....keep the dimensions pretty much the same

Not yet. Slide, releases, trigger, and action all feel smooth though.
