Dieseltoyz did the swap imported a powertrain from japan with 40,000 km 24,000 miles on it, new timing belt, water pump, injectors prior to install. A few additional things to consider. As the truck is my work vehicle and I do not write off miles( write off incurred vehicle expense) therefore entire swap cost is tax deductible. My accountant demanded i spend money for more tax deductions. The fuel savings cost is a dividend return on the swap ( small but something) currently banks are yielding 0.5% interest annual but inflation is 5+ % (look at fuel and food costs) so $25k in the bank looses 5+ % value per year not including the calculation of the loss of value of the dollar with all the Fed printing of money. Better to spend you're money on tangible items while the dollar has some strength left than leave in the bank shrinking. 30 years ago in brazil inflation was out of control overnight money would loose over 20% value, people would buy anything they could resell the following day as due to inflation the resale value went up daily. I believe the USA is in for an inflation crash in the near future. Again money in the bank is lost money. The taco swap was a dream of mine for many years as I have a diesel mid size truck in brazil and have friends that own hilux trucks I had the opportunity to do the swap and just went for it.

They do have a complete kit you can buy to install yourself I just do not have a lift and all the tools to do it in my garage at home. The time it would take to do at home I can work overtime and make up most of the difference. Also dieseltoyz has a 2 year power train warranty I believe if they do the install
