bull bar question

I just got some westin bull bars in and i am planning on mutting them on my taco tonight, but had a question. I ordered PIAA 4062 driving lights to mount on the bars, and i was curious if i needed to wait to mount the bars until after i had the lights installed, or if i can put the bars on now and when the lights come in install them. If i put the bars on now, will i have to remove them to get the lights on? thanks

 

You dont have to have the bar off to put the lights on. I put mine on while the bar was mounted no problem.

 

thanks, how did you get them on? did you take the skidplate off or is there enough room to get a wrench in the tube to tighten the lights?

 

You dont have to take anything off except the little rubber gromets that plug the holes for the bolts.

 

I hope you dont have to take the skid plate off. I'm putting mine on Friday with a similar setup.

 

awesome thanks, one last question, can you mount it ontop of the front skid plate, or do i need to remove that? it looks like it will fit around/over it, but im not 100% sure

 

It will go over it. And the instructions say you have to remove your towhooks....thats a lie.

 

yeah thats what i thought, i was like how the hell are the tow hooks going to get in the way, oh well the bars will be on tonight, hopefully the lights are coming soon. how did you get the lights tight with the bars on?

 

Just go in from the bottom of the bar with a socket wrench with an extension. Hold the light in place where you want it and tighten it down. Once you start to piece it together you will see. The whole process is very easy. Post pictures when you get it done!

 

what's the estimated install time, can one person do it or do i need to call some help?

 

one person can do it. I did it on the night of my 21st birthday at 2 a.m. in about an hour.... I THINK lol. hard to remember

technically.....there are 2 bars, but obviously one assembly. you know us in the south dont have the best english speaking/typing skills. we're a little slow sometimes

 

Thats just fine. I wouldnt want to live anywhere else! If the south ain't great, grits aint groceries.

 

I've heard that's because of the humidity...Is this true??
