Interesting, I never thought about this. Might keep the cats from doing that face rub thing on them as well...to the "must do" list it goes.

It's one of those things that you really can't do after you build and when you look at home interiors it makes a HUGE difference and this is a difference people will notice when you put your house on the market. Even if they don't notice it subconsciously it's one of those things that makes the home feel better to them rather than the sharp edges.

I want to make some information public here in case this guy decides to post publicly about it. A while back I bought a URD supercharger pulley from a guy in Salt Lake City. He posted in the for sale section here for a good price so I PM'd him to see if he would take Paypal and ship. He said that he didn't have time because he was moving out of country. Ok, because that only takes a few minutes but whatever. I contacted a guy I know locally to meet with him to give him cash and then he could ship it to me. The guy agreed to meet him so I contacted the seller again to set up a time & place for them to meet. The seller said that he was just so busy that he couldn't and said he would leave the pulley on the seat of his car at his location and that he could simply get the pulley and leave cash on the seat. My guy did this at the required time and did exactly as was instructed. Next thing I know I get a message from the seller saying that he had someone check and that the cash wasn't there.

WTF? I told him that the cash was indeed left there and I don't know what happened after that but I wasn't responsible. I hear nothing for months (last communication was February via TW.com PM) and now I get a PM from him saying he's back in the country and wants the money for the pulley. I proceeded to remind him that I wanted to pay via Paypal & have him ship so we would both be protected and he refused. He had weird timelines and weird reasons that he wanted weird payment terms which I met to procure the transaction. I would not have done this or suggested this but it was a good deal and in order to buy it I was willing to meet his weird & unsecured requirements. How is this my fault? I told him that for all I know his guy or he has they money or someone walking by saw something in the car and that caught their eye. I mean, it just doesn't make sense that I would send a guy w/o money to pick up something because what if the guy was there when he showed up? That conversation would have been real interesting:

Guy: Hi, I'm here to pick up a small pulley.
Seller: Here it is. Where's the money?
Guy: He didn't tell me to bring any cash.
Seller: Well, I'm not selling this w/o payment.
Guy: Well great, I drove all the way over here as a favor for nothing.
Seller: That's too bad. I'm leaving the country so I guess he doesn't get it.

I mean seriously... what is this guy trying to pull? If this guy keeps pressing his side I may bother site staff and get them involved just so they're in the loop about the situation because I don't know what this guy is trying to do but I'm not a spring chick so it's not going to work on me. I hate to bother them but I also don't want to seem like I'm trying to avoid bringing it to light because I was involved in any wrong doing. I mean, I should have known better based on the weird guidelines he required to buy but it was a good deal so I was willing to jump through a few hoops. In hindsight I wish I had paid retail to order from URD especially since I decided on a stealth pulley and sold this pulley before I ever even installed it. What a PITA.

    Seriously... Dafuq?

Edit: I should add that this all went down in February and the last I heard from him was February and was under the impression he realized he wasn't going to con me and decided to let it go. It's been half a year and now suddenly I get a PM trying to get more money out of me?

I have never heard of a deal like that going anything but wrong. "I'm trying to sell this, yet I don't have time to sell this". "Just leave the cash on the car seat". Any relationship with Gadget? Call him up and ask if this dude is a nutcase, maybe he had some idea when he originally bought it (that is if he bought it new).

Sounds interesting. And knowing you personally and having bought things from you, and paid in advance for a part for you with you paying me at delivery of said part, I can vouch 100% that you pay up. I'd tell him to Kiss my ass.

Over a year and now he contacts you? Dafuq is right. There isn't proof (other than ur guy who dropped it off) so He has allegations are simply allegations and nothing more. If there was an issue prior, he would have PM'd you IMO.

That's pretty much what I've done man. I just wanted to make it public so it didn't look like I was trying to hide something. I hate to air this sort of BS but felt I needed to in order to protect myself from whatever it is he's trying to pull.

No, it was Feb of this year so like half a year but still.. that's a long ass time. He PM'd me before but it was days after payment was left. It was a quick two PMs where I basically told him that payment was indeed left and he was barking up the wrong tree. Like I said, I hear nothing for half a year so I assumed he found it, found out how nabbed it or decided his scam wasn't going to work.... whichever had happened. I even double checked with my guy (long-time member from a gun forum so I trust him fully) who said that he w/o a doubt left it in an envelope and even described the denomination and such. I thanked him again and said I wouldn't trouble him with the matter anymore because I already felt bad asking him to drive over there to get that on a moment's notice, get cash to pay the guy & then ship it out to me. Then out of the blue half a year later I get a PM wanting payment again. Not sure what the deal is but he's wasting his time because he won't get another dime out of me.

No, you're doing it wrong. PM him briefly and then wait until May of next year to PM him again demanding action.

It's gotta be about 6 months since we put Noah's bumper on so the timing is perfect.

First post. Long time lurker. Was waiting to register until I bought my first Tacoma. I came from owning two Dodge Rams. 2004 and 2006 1500's. I am more excited about this Tacoma than any other new vehicle. I am fully converted.
