I have had to do that twice. I get about 8-9 months out of them. the ones from the factory lasted 6 years till I decided to change. Only problem had been I've been out on the road when they go so I've just replaced them one at a time. I'm fixing to go with projector HID's so if one burns out again tough crap.

Look great. Hope you have better luck then I did with Smittybilt Nerf Steps black powder-coated - the powder coat is pealing off and rust is taking over.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
The light on the road was good for me but the life is too short. I don't want to do projectors or anything other than plug into what I have. I'm open to using something other than Sylvania if anyone has better.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Not really. Bright as f%ck, but life sucks due to the output. Typically, greater light output means shorter life. IMO, too short on the silverstars and ultras.

I loved them, but also suffered the poor life. I switched to the Sylvania Xtravision and I'm happy with the output. The price isn't as ridiculous as the ultras either. I think it was around $25 for a two pack. Can't comment on life as they haven't even been in a year yet. Hoping for 2-3 years being they are brighter than stock.

The fender bars Tyler made protected from most of the damage. I would've been screwed without them. Just bent the fender a little. Nothing some vice grips and a little hammering can't fix.

BTW. Just got an email from Sylvania. They said they are sending a replacement lamp. We'll see how that works out. Still open to alternates.

Xtravision... K. maybe get these to keep ready in the tool box. Thanks OldManTan

To me, that means junk. They are more expensive and don't last as long as OEM. I'll stick with OEM.

X2 just replaced bulbs after 4 years, one went out, replaced both. Plus, such a pain to replace, because no room to work, I don't want to be doing that again anytime soon.

I finally got around to fixing the annoying tire pressure light. Used the old snip & ground trick. Also did the hose clamp on the tailgate hinge.

Nice pic. God, there's so many things about my older Toy trucks I miss. Look at the size of the windshield on the old truck. Then compare it to that ridiculous downward hook of the 2nd Gen. I'm constantly leaning over the steering wheel to get visibility upward. And the size of the side windows on the old truck compared to the 2nd Gen. I'm constantly leaning down to get visibility with this new truck. I sure as hell miss that double-pane rear slider also, this new single pane slider is, well, a pain.

Alright, rant over. What I did today was give the truck a good exercise in 4HI on a long, fun, and sort of nasty dirt road.

That's surprising to hear - I had Smittybilt tubular bumpers (front & rear), and tubular nerf bars on my 1994 4WD. I put them on myself, when the truck was only a month or two old, and when I sold it after 19 years, the powder coat was still holding up pretty well (except for where it had been scratched or damaged by contact with trees, rocks, etc).
