Thanks. It is frustrating and rewarding at the same time.
    Thank you.
As long as this 4Runner and I are still breathing, this thread will continue.:)
Some of the things I would like to get to sooner rather than later would be tires. Most likely 31/10.5/15's which will seem huge compared to the current 235/75/15's.
I also want to do a comprehensive breather mod, including both differentials, the transfer case, and maybe , if I'm feeling frisky, the transmission. The transmission on this runner is smooth as silk, even under a load, so I want to do whatever I can to keep it that way.

    shouldnt be difficult to do...

some basic brass plumbing fittings and some airhose will get them accomplished...yes the airhose stands out...but its cheap and easy to use...and you can reuse the stock breathers on the ends

I did the rear diff on the Taco.....now it's time to step it up and install breathers for everything. It will be modelled after your breather mod, due to cost and parts access.

I finished up my tailgate window switch mod today. I'm really proud of this one because I had a hard time finding any of the information I needed, so I pretty much figured it all out on my own.

you better get ready for it...

my wife likes to ask me what I need to get at Lowe's. I then respond with 1/4" male nipple, quick release female 1/4 coupling, 1/4" elbow, 1/4" shut off valve, etc...

Funny you should mention that. When they found out I was filming, they had to be a part of it.

Thanks, Will. It also felt good to modify as opposed to repair.

Tried to get an inspection today. It failed, but only because of the tires (I knew they were questionable). The garage had a 2005 Ford Escape in for inspection and the mechanic said my 92 4Runner was in better mechanical and safety condition.:)

On a whim, I went across the street to a salvage yard to see if they had any decent used tires. Found a full set of 235/75/15 Goodyear Forteras with about 75% tread remaining. They're not an aggressive tire and not the size I really want, but for $20/tire, I won't complain.

This salvage yard(not an import yard) had a single 2nd gen 4Runner that was scheduled to be crushed soon. One of the workers told me to look it over quick for cheap parts before they crush it. When I glanced in the window, I saw a single center cap(that I needed). Score! Then I glanced in the back seat and found 2 brand new lower ball joints still in the plastic. Double score!

My ball joints are just fine, but to buy a pair at the parts store would be about $130.

    4 matching tires in good shape: $20/each ~ $80
    2 brand new ball joints: $5/each ~ $10
    1 wheel center cap: $5

Knowing I'll pass inspection tommorrow morning: PRICELESS :D

It's official. I passed my inspection and I'm street legal....:yay:!

I don't like the tires (hwy tires, not ATs), but I must say, the difference is night and day. I thought I had gremlins in the steering system, but really all I needed was some new tires. No more sloppy steering and no more pulling to the right when braking. :D

I'll post a couple pics later although, like I said, the tires are pretty high up on the lame scale.

Thanks.:) It's been a good day. I almost got those tires for free too, but I'm an honest person, so I paid for them. I picked them up from the salvage yard today. (they thought I paid yesterday)

I also sold a couple things I had left from my Tacoma today for asking price.
