UPDATE: As previously mentioned even my small boat seemed to cause quite a bit of strain on my truck. So yesterday afternoon while looking at my boat on the trailer I noticed the rest for the bow of the boat seemed low and it was adjustable. My boat seemed to tow tongue heavy and would bounce my truck up And Down over the slightest bumps causing a jerky/violent ride. So yesterday I loosened the winch on the boat and lifted up on the front of the boat and noticed even lifting the bow about an inch caused the trailer to lift a bunch of weight off the tongue. So I lifted up on the bow and raised the rest for the bow about an inch. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! The trailer seems to carry most of the weight on the axle and it has been removed from the rear of my truck. I'm no longer being jerked/bounced going down the road, and even braking is Improve because I don't have all that weight bearing down on the back of my truck. The hills on my way to the lake that used to slow me down, I barely even notice as much. It still definitely feels like something is back there, but I can maintain speed easier And I'm not constantly having the boat/trailer jouncing me around.

    This is what I'm towing.
    Empty ~3500pds
The way it's outfitted today ~5000pds
Add supplies for 2 weeks and she's getting heavy.
Tows good even in the mountains but ya gotta take it easy up them long hills. I have to leave the trailer behind if there's a moose or elk to drag out but I'd never complain about that:D. I usually make a 600 mile round trip 3-4 times a year and the only stress is at the pumps.

What!? You've never been winter camping? Clear skies, not a soul around, -25C (-13F) day time highs... What's not to love? Even my wife partakes.
Too Cold? Get wood, build a warm fire.

nice! I got family in western NY that show pigs and stuff. they have a trailer kinda like that but it has a lower roof, I think if your going to be doing it a lot more, look at having the roof lowered or something it will cut down on the weight a little bit. not much but may help, you are also probably getting a lot of wind drag being a problem then the weight is.

Where is the picture of the black regular cab towing the skid loader? I could have sworn I saw it one time in this thread.

Wow - that's pretty long for a Tacoma. How does it pull?
