I went through two Dodge Ram 1500's. 2004 and 2006 Laramie edition. All the bells and whistles. I just bought my 2013 DCSB TRD off road and couldn't be happier. Any one else come from the "big three" (GM, Ford, dodge)? Any regrets. My aha moment came when I went to sell my Ram and even though it cost more in 2006, I couldn't buy a similar age/mileage Tacoma with the money.

Welcome. Never owned a "Big 3" but drove enough of them hard to know they are no match for a Tacoma!

    You won't regret it.

I know. Believe me. I love my Tacoma. The only thing I miss is my coffee table size center console. But there's so much I like more with Toyota it's not even an issue.

    Welcome!
    You've made an excellent upgrade.
I came from a 2000 F-250 Lariat supercab longbed diesel. That truck was starting to get needy, so I turfed it and for the same payment got into something AWESOME

Your right. My buddy has a 2500 diesel. Seems strong. I can't believe I bought 2 of those suckers and then this Tacoma. I could have saved a lot of cash buying Toyota first but I had the "look how much truck I could get" syndrome.

Yeah...you can get a whole-lotta dodge for cheap...I looked at them briefly, but couldn't swallow the depreciation off the lot...

I like your spruce mica. I've only owned grey and white vehicles and couldn't make the big jump. Stuck to what I knew.

I do have to make special trips to gas stations for Copenhagen now though. My Ram always made sure I didn't go through a couple cans before the tank ran dry. Lol. I do not miss the 36 gallon tanks that got me close to the same distance.

I do like the Chevy trucks but our work trucks are Chevys and after working out of town for a week or two out of town, last thing I wanted is to get back to the shop and climb into my truck with the same interior. I couldn't do it.

Hemi used to really mean something. The other day I passed a mini-van that had the Hemi emblem on the back. WTF?

I came from a Chevy 1500 to a DCSB. The Tacoma is nice, but hasn't impressed me enough to say I wouldn't go back to one of the big three for my next truck.

I came from a 05 hemi ram 1500 4x4, I don't miss a thing. My payment & gas are under what it cost for gas in that thing a month. The Toyota quality is way better than the dodge imo.

Had a hemi in my previous Jeep. Only thing I miss is the power. It may not mean what it used to, but dropping 100HP and even more torque is quite noticeable...

22 years of driving GM exclusively till my 5 yr old Colorado puked a head and timing chain. The dealer "didn't know" about the head warranty..haha..then refused to fix it after certifying it was eligible under warranty. The second dealer charged me almost 2 grand for the chain and other stuff the head ruined and told me GM would reimburse me..GM then said no the dealer could have gotten it approved free.

Now why did I buy a Toyota, hmm..haha..oh yeah, went from 16mpg in my Chevy 4 banger to 22-23 in my Toyota.

GM is famous for screwing their customers. Luckily they never screwed me but since Obama stuck his nose into the car business with them and Chrysler I took my money and gladly gave it to the Japs. Screw "buy American", I'd rather just buy the best product.
