Damn. No suppressors in Hawaii. No full auto. No destructive devices. So, my dream of owning the gun in "the jackal" ....

Mine is longer but yours is cooler dammit.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
i'll report back when i get a chance to take it out.

after it came in and saw how it came off the same line as the Sig, i was happy. even the case and additional pieces included are the same.

Do any of you guys have any clever 'tricks and tips' for cleaning a gun after firing old surplus (corrosive) ammo? I was doing some research and some people have some interesting cleaning methods on top of what normally goes into cleaning a firearm.

bore snake it. My buddy uses boiling water and pours it down the barrel after shooting corrosive ammo in his Mosin. I just bore snake and break free it.

Thanks, I still need to pick one of those up. I did see a youtube clip where a guy uses boiling water down the barrel, good to know that actually works.

I have one for my 12 gauge, I was told to pick one up in .308 if I can't find one specifically for the Mosin.

If I like shooting the Mosin, I've already got a list of upgrades I want to add. So far, I've got Brasstackers mount, glass, recoil pad and a benchrest in my cart and ready to go on Amazon :anonymous:

i wanna see a vid of you doing that. everytime i bore snake my guns, i try something different to try to get that clp to soak the right section of the bore snake at the right part of the barrel so it doesnt get wasted on the string or drip out of the barrel without doing anything. It's one of my OCD things with cleaning.

I bought the bore snake for the Mosin today. I use one on my shot gun every time I shoot it, my 22 pistol I don't bore snake though, it's short enough to clean without the snake.

They seem to be the best made mount for that gun, and I love that you don't have to permanently modify anything. I want to shoot it as-is first, then I'll start picking up some modifications for it including glass.

I picked up a tin of Russian surplus ammo today and the guy was nice enough to give me the opener with the tin. I'm sure that tool saved me some 4 letter words.

Save you more 4 letter words than you know, I've got a can opener at my house even though I've sold my mosin on the likely chance that I will get another one lol, after I got one, I wouldn't want to give it up when opening those stupid cans

I bore snake the shit out of it too... and extra rem-oil. If you make a bunch of passes in one direction it all comes out and shoots perfect.

Anyone tried ballistol and hot water? That's what the BP guys use and BP is corrosive. Well not the powder itself. The moisture and salts .... nm. That's that the BP guys use and their stuff will rust in a couple days here in Hawaii.
