    The problem is every cot I've seen is too long for the bed. I have a bunch of camping gear and can make something work in a pinch. We got 11" of snow today and I plan on camping in a week, so sleeping on the ground isn't an option.

    What type of hardware did you use for the sliders on the drawers? I'm building next week and want one drawer on one side and open space on the other. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to have a 6 foot drawer without spending a fortune on rails.

    Just realized I haven't posted my platform for my new truck. Real simple design, so I can take it out by myself when the cap is on. Works great, and the drawers keep my gear organized while making a nice table. I have a 3" memory foam mattress that sits on top as well as our Big Agnes sleeping pads. The right side with no drawer holds the chairs, firewood, snowboards during the winter, and usually the wet muddy gear like boots n such.

    After a few test runs, I have plans to revise the design for more headroom.

    I also did a similar design. However, I made the sides removable to fit some additional road bikes.

    Nice! I need to Carpet my panels too! You run into head room issues too? and do you carry a dual sport around or something? I see some climbing gear in there, Hell Yea!

    Yeah, head room is not a big problem being 5'4''. I will measure the amount of headroom when I get home, but its enough to almost sit up. I wish I had the raised canopy though.

    I carry either my trials bike or Super Sherpa on the back. The rack works perfect, just a little inconvenient in the city every now and then. And I always carry my climbing/camping/cycling gear in the back, so I am ready when and wherever.

    No sliders, just carpeted the bottoms of the drawer for easier slide, and you can see the window latches I used to secure them closed. If you need to pull the drawer out further, you can always build a drop leg for support.
