Looking good my gold taco brother. I wish I could be where you are in your build. Tires, front plate and rear plate have been on my list for toooo long. Little stuff keeps popping up and money goes quick.

The Gold and Black is a great match of colors. Maybe I'm biased.

    Keep up the great build.

The JL Audio C2 are awesome. Very clear and jam. The subs are ok for what they are. I had to go with a shallow box and shallow subs so I think you lose some of the good deep bass, but its not bad. The HERTZ subs are the only ones I could find that were shallow enough. They sound good, not muffled as one might think. I like that from looking inside the truck you can tell that anything is aftermarket except the double DIN.
I have about $2k in the audio components and a friend and I installed. The head unit was about $450

Today I mounted a fire extinguisher. I decided on the drivers side back seat area. I also plasti-dipped the badges on doors. Did not work so well on the other badges. Any ideas?

hard to beat a gold double cab!! Truck looks very good btw. Im with boxrocket, a gold DC build thread needs to be started!

about dipping your badges, i actually removed my 2 door badges and dipped the rest. Was a little tedious on the tailgate, i had to run a straight edge along some of the letters to get it to peel right. but its held up great so far. i wash over it like normal.

also, do u have your rear bumper plastidipped? if so do you have a shot of it? ive considered doing mine

That's why I saved my original air box. I got the k&n cai but I have always been 50/50 when it comes to cai's. I'm leaning toward putting mine back in and selling my cai.

Give it to me then you can have mine and you can have 2 CAI's :D

I did plasti-dip teh bumpers and tehy have held up pretty well. I'll have to take a better picture of it. I just taped everything off and sprayed it while still on the truck.

I guess I had to do the axle relocation because of the Dakar leafs. I have heard that they might move the axle forward. Either way I have tested it and it works well. Sucks that my ubolts are not perpedicular exactly.

I did the deck plate mod, but also have a OEM airbox just in case. At some point I want to pickup a snorkel. Do they use any part of the OEM airbox or do you delete it?

    Nice build Astraa.

I basically have the same truck as you guys (04 SR5 DC TRD 4x4) and I am about to install complete OME suspension (882's and Dakar with AAL) and run 285/75r16. Would you guys say just go ahead and add the relocation plates when I install the suspension since this seems to be a common issue with the Dakars?

im thinking from what i have seen on other trucks that have the K&N is u do completely away from the OEM air box and it is an opened filter. people have said it gets better fuel mileage and easy to to maintenance on all u do is use a air hose and blast the stuff out to where u dont have to keep buying a filter for it. thanks for the advice, i appreciate it.

Does the Safari snorkel use any of the OEM air induction?

If you are referring to the oem air box, I think you can go either way with or without, but then again I don't have one so I cant tell you word for word what you need:eek:

Today I added a Cobra 75 WX ST and a 4' Firestik. Install was very simple and clean. Tuned it with an SWR meter, but have not heard much chatter, I assume that in the city you wont. I placed the firestik on the front passenger side of the ARB bumper, inline with the radio antenna. I thought this was the best place for reception and looks. I might move it later. Picked up the cb at Fry's for $88 and the Firestik at a truck stop for $25

    the saga continues...pics to come.
