Norcal Spotted and BS Thread

Gotta love the tile that looks like wood. We've got friends who put that in theirs several years ago. The wood grains they have now are so realistic even with the wood texture.

 

Yesterday, I almost got hit by a guy who ran a stop sign. My right of way and I was in the intersection already. Then the jackass has the gall to yell at me?

I've commuted to work, toured and generally enjoy riding bikes. But this sort of entitlement attitude isn't good for anyone. If you have a bike lane, it's not about keeping up. If you want to share the road, you need to at least make an attempt to abide by the rules when there are other vehicles around.

 

I agree with you. The cyclists are at the mercy of the drivers and they never win. I agree that if there is a bike lane, that there is no reason to not abide by the rules.

I just wish there were more bike lanes where I live. Berkeley is a more bike friendly city but then again it could be because of the students. We are trying to advocate for more lanes in Concord at the moment.

But then it boils down to politics/money and all that. I won't go into that here.

 

Just curious (as a cyclist who already wastes enough time on forums ) What cycling site do you run?

Was thinking about driving over but had to take off. Ill def say whats up next time. Glad to see FF is still doing Wed. night rides. Nice build man

 

One of the main thoroughfares in my neighborhood was just converted to one lane plus a bike lane. The bike lane is on the left side of the road.

The thing is, it already had a bike lane and two lanes. Now it's royally f'd up.

 

Yupp same thing happened in my home town. They switched from 2 lanes/1 bike lane and made a wider bike lane and 1 auto lane. There have been more cyclists vs auto accidents because the cyclists feel like they own more of the road and entire too far/close to the car lane. Give them a foot and they want a mile. They would have been better off leaving it the way it was. I see cyclists all the time flying down roads almost as fast as cars, flying through stop signs, yelling at cars that "get too close" and 'demanding' the right of way. Truth is they are in the road, built for cars, they may have a 'right of way' but their safety is in the hands of drivers who all to often don't pay enough attention.

I use to ride road bikes. But after too many close calls I switched to trail riding around the American river and recreational areas. It's not worth it. Same reason why I'm selling my motorcycle. Drivers are wayy to occupies with crap these days that my safety on 2 wheels isn't worth the risk.

Is FJ and 4th gen 4 runner suspension the same? UCA, coilovers, coils, and shocks?

 

Owow i woulda given you my Tacomas old stock wheels if i had known.
I think they woulda fit, i ended up scrapping them.

Ive been wanting to learn to ride motorcycles but i guess ill just stick to dirtbikes instead of paved roads.
