that pretty much sums it up :goingcrazy:

nah, it's done. started at 5, and finished at 9, including a little hop in the pool to cool off. only things still to do are finish up sealing the air filter box, and then i'm going to run a bead of the black sealant around where the snorkel sits on the fender, to keep dirt and crap from getting between the two and causing rust.

but it's all hooked up and otherwise functioning :) i took some pictures of the process, but it was getting too dark by the time i finished, so 'll snap some tomorrow before i head to work.

Blame NY DB! he kept asking about the list

Edit: List just got longer too :p
just added the snorkel, and the Hella Supertones i forgot originally.

    Good stuff

    I've always wanted 4.88s, because I want to run 35s or 37s
I didn't realize how extensive this build was, but this sums it up.

shoot, i can't even read. i got this little Malaysian kid off the internet and he just types everything for me.

    I've had the truck a while ;)

and there lies the decision of 35s vs 37s. I think the proper route may be to get the front LT set up first, and then cycle it with some random 37 on it to see what my clearance issues would be. then from there i can decide on tires and corresponding gears.

forgot to post snorkel pictures :goingcrazy:

anyway, it turned out well. hookin git up wasn't too bad. i'm going to seal up the filter box tonight and run a bead of sealant against around where the snorkel meets the paint, and call it done.

the supplied elbow is indeed for a 3'' ID pipe. dumbass me wasn't looking and bought couplings, not pipe. so i ended up using the 3'' coupling, which is closer to 3.25'' ID. it was a tight fit, but i gues it means more flow, right

here's what the reducer and supplied elbow look like with the 3'' coupling inside.

the reducer was a perfect fit the the air box

the reducer made a snug fit, to the point that i couldn't get all of the mounting bolts in to secure the air box. it's more than steady though, so i'll just seal up the holes i didn't use

tabed up and ready for the template
    [IMG]

want to cut a perfect circle?

drilll the holes and test fit.

drill and then square up the holes for the bracket inserts
    [IMG]

mount it up, make the connection, and tighten your hose clamps and you're done. from the throttle body to the snorkel scoop i have 8 hose clamps

Craig, this pictrure's more for you. looks like the new snorkels have the scoop grill molded in as one piece, instead of a little screw-on deal. cutting out the grill bars and drilling two holes, you think we can still get your mini satoshi to work?

Mine was the same. I had to cut out the XX pattern plastic and drill two holes in the sides. ;)

Yup. I've seen those too... That setup would probably be easier to create a piece for but we're Tacomas - everything's a fucking challenge.
