What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Is $550 a fair price for a complete e locker axle with harness and switch?

 

Put magnaflow on



Durring the time of putting on my muffler i noticed some rear end frame rust that was pretty bad...





Is there any way of going about to fix this? Its getting pretty weak, which isnt a good thing if i get rear ended, but im not sure what to do here i was thinking of cutting it off and re fabbing it up but i dont know if thats going to work well.

All opinions are appreciated!

 

if it has the third, and the housing, and the hubs, and the harness, and it all works that is a fucking awesome deal and you should go buy it this second

 

I have replacements for the replacement clear ones that replaced the OEMs for that reason...sigh.

I had my wife call in a PANIC.....brake light came on and she quickly pulled over to call me....E-brake was set and she did release it but did not turn handle quite enough to keep it from "walking" back out just enough .....smart lady...I talked her through it and ...It worked and my Tacoma still has rear brakes ...

 

I was in Afghanistan and my wife called and told me idk what's wrong with ur truck it won't move I told her its probably the clutch she's like how do u know. Sure enough it was the clutch. Women

 

I am an expert grill remover at this point and am super careful with all this brittle shit. I did lose my first one on my OEM ones.

 

It's complete drum to drum. The only reason I'm hesitant is because long term I want to go 44/9 or tons and don't want to buy this axle only to turn around and replace it in a few years anyways. I can also get 5.29's And install kits for the e locker axle and my front diff for $250 (if he still has them) which is also making the decision hard because that is stupid cheap.

 

Drove my truck 450 miles yesterday pulling my boat and got 19 mpg.

 

no wonder why everyone on here breaks lower ball joints if they are doing sweet jumps like that lol

 

you can buy it and sell it and get your money back no problem. certainly worth it if you dont plan on SAC'ing for a couple years.

I'd kill just to find a working locker for that price since a replacement is retarded expensive.

08/01/13 installed b&m transmission cooler.

Yesterday I did the slip joint mod: This made a moderate impact on steering wheel play

Today I replaced the factory steering rack bushings with energy suspension poly bushings: http://www.parksoffroad.com/tacomamods/kristacoma/rackbushings/rackbushings.htm

After doing both of these mods the steering wheel has very little to no play and quick steering wheel response at all speeds! My 2 favorite mods thus far behind my tranny cooler install! Thanks to all the people on here for the how to's!

 

I just ordered some Bilstein 5100s for all four corners
