I would probably have to agree with you, however I do know a guy with a 2wd Tacoma TRD with a super charger(2.5" lift and 32's) that has been down there a few times. He did suprisingly well. He out performed a FJ Cruiser. :D Granted he knew how to drive and the guy driving the FJ Cruiser didn't really know how to drive what he had.

I got a stock airbox for a 99-04 3.4L for sale. It has about 62k miles on it and an almost new pureone filter inside. Looking for $100 since a new one is $170 from rockauto.

Maybe sam's riverside has one? Or check oreillys first. They have a distribution center in Des Moines so they usually can get you whatever parts (if they even sell leafs) the same day or next.

Damn dude, that sucks... Keeping the taco for a while? You could check out wheelersoffroad.com and get a set.

Merrill Wheel And Axel, Downtown Des Moines Will Rebuild Leaf Springs. Last Time I Talked With Them It Was Somewhere Around $70 Per Leaf That Needs Fixed.

I have used them for U bolts in the past and they were good to deal with.

I had them fix the steering on my '99 tacoma as well as they tweaked the frame on my '89 Honda CRX since there weren't any camber adjustments on the front wheels. They have always done a good job for me. I was going to have them fix the leaf springs on my '99 but when i found out that I needed a new sterring unit, i didn't have enough money to do that too.

Thanks for the ideas guys! I am keeping it for a while, but not really knowledgable on what to get and who to install it. I've never done leaf springs before, so I'm clueless on how to do it.

Leafs aren't bad. You can find youtube videos and write ups all over. If you have the tools and some time, do it yourself and save money.

I'm installing my 3 leaf add a leafs and 5125s this weekend if I get time.

Yeah I was going to look into it. Any recommendations on replacement leafs that are best for the money? I already have 5100's and don't have much of an interest in wheeling. I do haul a wave runner and am looking to buy a boat in the near future.

Personally I would get these: Or OME dakars, but I think these lift it almost 3".

I've heard that the ride actually gets better with aftermarket leafs. Not sure on the wheelers ones though. I know pretty much everyone loves the dakars and I would think the wheelers are similar.

Cool. I had read that more leafs equaled a stiffer ride but increased off road and hauling capabilities?

Not necessarily, all pro has a leaf pack they call an Expo pack, has like 8 leafs but is meant for a butter smooth ride while overlanding.
