I commend you on having the courage. I bet a lot of people thought what it would look like... There you go. Good or bad, I can't tell yet. That's sweet you did it though. Awesome job in the end; whether people here like it or not.

I like it, been contemplating this myself, but after seeing the chipping and the trouble with the dip not coming off very easily, I think I would just have it vinyl wrapped before I would do this.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.

i have a couple solutions im working on for that, the only place ive had problems with chipping is the rocker/door silll there was one chip on the bed side and it was easy to repair, i cut the loos off with a raxor knife and

what i did was used a rag with a tiny amount of wd40 on it and scrubbed off all the chipped spots (not removed all like on the front) i just scrubbed off the loose stuff (and the wd40 made the pieces on the edge come off instead of peel, then i washed it with soap and water and put a new coat right over it. i just put 2 heavy coats on over the chipped area.

what im going to do on the sill/rocker area is Autozone has some flat black vynal wrap 36"x48" for $20 bucks i picked up a roll and im going to apply vynal over the problem area (over the dip because i have had vynal not release well) when i get that done i will be posting it here as well.

    Thanks.

they are powercoated "replica" of the trd trail teamn wheels. the stripped down the silver wheels and powercoated them black and red. the good news is it cost me less than the oem trail team wheels (1400) and the powerd coat is stronger than paint (supposedly the factory trail team ones were painted)

    http://www.earnhardttoyotaparts.com/whtrdtrtemab.html

this link is not where i had mine done but is the same "deal" i have about $600 in mine. I wanted the trd "beadlocks" but i had a set of the mich thompson fake beadlocks once and they suck (fill with mud you cant wash out, and require disasembly) so i opted for these as my second favorite OEM wheel

    no problem. any time.

I personaly havent used it on rims, and i wouldnt even try it on a truck i own because every truck i own sees moderate to heavy offroad use. stuff is just not tought enough for wheels.

now if its was a car or on the street more id be perfectly happy to give it a shot

you read correct. .40 cal bullet holes

i was out shooting, like i did every weekend at the time and i made a joke about shooting the truck...

my ex wife had some things to say and told me i couldn't do it basically im retarded for making the joke about shooting a 21k truck i just bought.

so when she went away the next time i was out shooting the first thing i did was shoot my truck :)

it was always a great conversation starter and you would be amazed how many people did not believe me when i put the picture online ( i dont have it anymore) so i took the picture here with my finger in it.

    Have a great day!

    why not?

i had a off the wall desire to do it, and the possible consequences were completely acceptible. pro's outwieghed the con's.

    pro's
    -i want to
    -its free
    -it unique

    con's
    -tailgate rust faster

you cant see it in the picture but the top edge of the tailgate is bent from a trailer jack accident with my ex wife. so the tailgate "value" for resale was not changed by the bullet holes.

i figured as much :) but i wasnt worried much :)

i love your truck by the way. I have always wanted to build one like that but since im midwest located, ive never set out about it with the lack of desert, open land, and legal places to wheel.
