oh don't get me wrong, i'm all for saving money, it's just a convenience thing at the moment. if i can find a good shop, i'm more than happy to cancel my order with URD. it's just good to have a backup.

agreed, I've had to repaint all of my skids multiple times, with the exception of the tank skid. I got it from Coil a couple of years ago, and it still has the original paint he just last minute sprayed it with some black paint

luckily we have plastic gas tanks that are fairly forgiving if they take a good hit. if we had metal tanks, we'd have issues without a skid.

finished sealing up the filter box this evening, as well as sealing the snorkel to the fender. sealing the snorkel to the fender to keep moisture and dirt out is something i first saw from Boyd. not sure if he was the first to do so, but i'll give him credit.

first i taped off the fender and the snorkel to create a channel for the sealant. alsw ran a bead around the a-pillar mount.

    laid the bead down
    [IMG]

finished off the bead with the ol' finger method
    [IMG]

remove tape and enjoy a good beer

good piece of mind, knowing that your'e paint's protected and your flare won't rust through. and for about $10 for a tube of marine grade silicone and some tape, and about a half hour of your time, might as well :)

see, if i were in melbourne i'd know exactly where to go :(

where are you taking yours. I had a number of good experiences with dynamic, on Babcock, right next to where House of Power used to be. I bought straight pipe from them, and had them mandrel bend some pieces for me when i rebuilt mine the first time.

    Yep.
    Truck looks awesome Collin!

IMO, should have left the bottom side open for drainage. Water will still get behind there from the giant hole in the fender. Now it's trapped.

Also, paint those A-pillar screws

Dynamic and a shop near the malabar rd. and i95 junction are pretty good. The Palm Bay one is even known for their fab work. Might have them put a flow master 40 on it and ill sell the mbrp offroad exhaust.

I haven't been able to settle on a tire yet. Need something good at calling and high speeds. From what I've seen, hight speed toes can usually crawl well, but crawling ties generally aren't that great at speed. Mtr would fit the bill, I just want to do a little movie research on their sidewall construction. I've Sen a few sliced open. Ben looking at maxxis recently.

    what's a street? :p

hoping to have a daily driver in the next year or two, so while road manners may be a tie breaker, it's otherwise going to be a category sitting towards the back of the buss. road noise aside though, off road tires generally do pretty well on road just because they are so soft.

my top choice tire right now is the Trepador. competition crawlers and trophy trucks both run them, so i don't have to worry about the crawl vs fast issue, which makes them good in my book. insane tires......

lol, we'll have to see. if you get the competition version in a 37x12.5x17, it's a good $450 a tire. standard radial version of it is like $300, but why get the "training wheel" version if you're going all out :D

of course, the other option is going with a set of 36 inch hummer tires. i'd just have to find a set of 16.5'' steel wheels and weld on some bead locks for those.
