Appearance-wise there are some designs from xxr that don't look too bad, but many of their replicas just look crude to me. I'm not a replica hater in general, but poorly done reps leave a bad taste in my mouth so to speak.

Xxrs are cheaply made and as a result are typically really heavy compared to other similar wheels. Just be careful to look at the weight of any given model vs. similar wheels from other companies when shopping. Unsprung weight is bad for both ride and performance.

Their offset selection is severely lacking. I'm sure there are some cars that the offsets fit properly but most don't and as a result they tend to be popular with the stretched tire / herrafrush crowd. Only a problem if the offsets would put you in with that crowd. :)

Anyone got input on relentless skid plate kits?? That and an armored rear bumper might be in Layla's future, but I also might just rhino line the shit out of the chrome rear bumper.

Consider Budbuilt skids when doing your research. Get some sliders before the rear bumper. You'll get more use out of them.

I'm looking at those right now too, I have the predator tube steps on right now and they're pretty tough, but with the drop steps, I lose a bit of ground clearance. I'm also not sure how sturdy they are, I'm think they're only bolted on. They've already proven their usefulness in one crawling trip north of San Antonio.

Eric makes good stuff but his wait times are normally pretty long. Check out pelfreybuilt, bruteforce fab and ATO as well.

And as Lyndall said get sliders first they're one of the cheapest pieces of armor and save you the most $$$ in body damage.
