I see a bunch of infractions being given out in this thread. Remember guys, hugs not shrugs on TW. we aren't allowed to tell people they make bad decisions.

Not necessarily a "bad" decision. Just one that I think he will regret. And as stated before... I still don't understand these "goodbye" threads. Like someone needs justification for buying another vehicle? But you're on a Tacoma site and you are bound to get a little bit of "ribbing". ;)

If you are able to pull 20 mpg with an 18 rated DC you will easily pull 35-36+ with the 31 rated Accord.

    Significant to me too. ;)

I thought our Tacomas were American?

My Japanese 6 cyl 306hp car is auto with paddles. And yes, it's real Japanese. It came from Japan. On a ship. With Japanese papers. In Japanese. And it doesn't break down or have issues like the second hand European cars that claim to be first rate.

Best of luck with your new Honda, they are very nice cars & if you feel it's the best choice for you & your family then by all means your a grown man & I wish ya the best! Some ppl on here like to give you sh!t for no reason & are very biased towards their Taco's. I for one LOVE my Taco & have considered trading her in for something different several times but when I head to the car lot thinking this could be the last time driving her, it gets REAL real quick, lol. I'm glad I still have her & plan to for many years. Nothing beats the utility of a truck, or the dependability of a Toyota Tacoma. Enjoy!

Congrats, the new accords are real nice. I have an 09 Coupe v6 6speed and it gets great mileage and still has plenty of power. I don't see why people are upset at you getting rid of your Tacoma when you don't need the truck's capabilities and it needs to be more of a daily driver.

Some of you guys have some mean wives, man card issues and all that. Not me. I got rid of my last truck right before I got married - not due to wife issues but due to a recurring and very expensive problem with the vehicle computer.

Fast forward three years. Last month out of the blue she calls me from the dealership - "I found you a truck!" Exactly what I wanted. I had a perfectly serviceable car, but she knew I missed my old truck and she decided to go out and find me a new one.

Needless to say, I'm keeping her!

PS: Ain't nothing wrong with any Honda save the Ridgeline. I'd have given the OP a huge and justified ration of shit for buying one of those. But not an Accord. Those things are like the Tacomas of the car world - they just do not break. Ever.

I don't think people are upset that he is getting rid of his truck. I love the new Accords. These goodbye threads make no sense that's all. Simple as that.

Like I said before... At least he didn't buy a Dodge

    Too few to list.
The new Accords are very nice though $29K plus fees and taxes is a lot. I think you're getting screwed. I myself chose a Honda (2013 civic) for commuting here and there but I'm keeping my truck.

Because sadly, the Camry is such a neutered midsize sedan. If you think you may trade, buy an Accord. If your the kind of person that keeps a car, go with the Altima. It's more fun to drive and at 90 mph, you feel like you're cruising around town.

I wanna love the Camry. I loved my HS secretary's that I got to drive all the time my senior year back in '98 as her aid but they are just so sedated now.

If I was going to a car, this is the vehicle I would get as well. OP you will enjoy your new car, I'm hoping it's quieter (road noise) than any of the other Hondas I've owned.

Aren't you glad you posted a farewell thread just to have a few posters kick your bag in?

    El Camino = "Cowboy Cadillac".

Had a 1971 Camino, fantastic car/truck, just wish it had a 327 instead of the 350. Well at least it was a Tonawanda built motor.

Our other vehicle is a 2002 Avalon XLS, 3.0L, four cam, haul ass classy ride. It has 120k miles on it and drives like it is brand new. In my opinion the Avalon is the "Sleeper" of the nice car world. Most people never give it a chance and do not realize what they are missing. We had a 2001 XLS until a guy in a 4500 lb. Land Rover Discovery hit my wife from behind when she was almost stopped and he was going 50+ MPH. He hit her so hard it pushed his shifter up through the console and broke one of his seat bolts. It tore the trunk off of the Avalon but when you looked inside besides the broken rear window glass, it was still perfectly intact. That car saved my wife's life!
