Seriously?!?! That actually works?? Damn, next time I got to Toyota, I'm just going to tell them what I want to pay. All this time, I didn't realize that was an option!

You can't go to an independent shop and get a quote, it has to be their labor rates?? I'd do some research, that sounds like the insurance company is doing something really shady...

 

Fuck no. Amica wanted to send my truck to a shitty local shop, I insisted it went to a Toyota body shop, and my truck was 7 years old at the time. Yours is brand new, force them to take it to Toyota

I could but after working in a dealer and seeing the work that comes out I would rather pick my own body shop. Cope,amd Toyota doesnt have their own shop just one they use

 

Understood, but I can't see a dealership agreeing to $40 /hr as a labor rate. And, I believe, you have the right to choose your repair shop, they can't force you to go to their place just because they've negotiated the rates with someone.

 

They arent forcing me to go any where. I have two or three shops in mind that come highly reccomended. Two of the three work on high end veh as well as reg stuff like ours

 

I dont understand how they can say what they will pay either but several shops have confirmed this when I spoke with them on the phone. I also found out that I am better off picking a shop giving them the truck so they can deal with the appraiser and get a better pay out.

 

I like Woburn foreign autobody! Go there maybe? They do things right!

I got to pick my own but I went to a private adjuster then called and made the claim after the truck was already at the shop

 

George's Autobody in Woburn is the second best in the state. My father has known the owner since his childhood. Now my truck was totaled now look at it that was some intense body damage some structural.
