New Guy needs a little advice

Hi everyone, I'm Charlie. I've owned 'yotas since my first vehicle (86 sr5 ext cab 4x4) but I'm just now getting my first Taco. Well, I've narrowed down the truck I want only to find out Toyota doesn't want to sell Manual trans 2.7L Prerunners anymore, so I guess I need to get a used truck. No biggie, saves me money and these trucks hold up so well that it's better to let someone else pay for the newness anyhow. I want to get a 2.7L 5 speed access cab SR5 Prerunner in white. I'm having trouble finding all these options together in one truck. My question is, does this package even exist, and if so what years was it available?

I thought the 2013 2.7 Double Cab PreRunner has a 5 speed manual available. I went with the auto.

Ah man, I didn't even notice that... shoot! Yup I have PHX included in my CL searches, as well as Autotrader.

Oh well, at least we will each have a hometown advantage!

Still available in 2013 according to the brochure. Probably hard to find since most go with the 4.0L. Has your dealer searched other dealer's inventories for you?

 

The guy at the dealership by my house (I'm assuming he was a salesman, lol) told me that the 4 cyl prerunners only come with an automatic trans for 2013. Standard Tacoma is still available with a 5 speed manual though.

Edit: You can't build a 5 speed manual 2013 pre runner with either engine on Toyotas website. Just tried.

Toyota's continuing to simplify the Tacoma lineup and make fewer option packages available. The last year it would have been possible to get the exact configuration you mentioned in the first post was 2010.

 

You can only build what.is available on lots in your region. So try again when 2014s are out.

 

The local toyota dealer did this to me. Call around to other dealers and they told me 5 speed sr5 trucks usually need to be special ordered but it'll take a while to get and youll pay more for it.

 

Try calling dealers in your area until and see if any of them want to work with you to get the truck you want.

 

Thanks guys! It does seem that the last year this package was available just as I want it was 2010. I may compromise and get a standard cab truck, since I've found several of those in Prerunner/sr5/man/2.7. I guess that just makes less room for my clutter, but the shorter wheel base will be nice in the trails.
