Alright after lots of research on here I think I have finally come up with my plan for my truck. I have an 06 trd or dc tacoma. I want to put on 1.5" progressive aal from wheeler, leave overload in. put billy 5100 all the way around and set the front to 0 with old man emu 885's.

Also want to put on the trd super charger. With the sc inparticular do I have to check and see if there has already been some sort of reflash that won't let me instal it. I have read on here about how some can't put on a sc because of some tsb or reflash that conflicts with the reflash needed after the sc install. I don't want that problem obviously; how do I know if I will have that problem? Also after I install the sc will I have any issues driving 10 miles or so to get the ecu reflashed?

So do any of you have any advice on this setup or foresee any problems?

Thanks for any and all input.

Badgers, I don't need no stinking Badgers.
Yes I do see a problem, you need a Dakar leaf pack and remove a leaf, much better choice for the back end.

Why is that? I am not super knowledgeable on leafs. The progressive seemed to have good reviews on ride quality.

AAL's tend to wear out stock leaf packs quicker. The dakars have a higher load rating and supposedly ride better but the progressive AAL is the next best option. No complaints at all with mine

honestly i dont know. i hung out with some xrunner guys and one of em was a lexus tech and he said it would be wise to get better brakes before putting in a S/C. didnt really elaborate though.

kinda like if someone is gonna go long travel it would be wise to get the cab caged and get some harnesses since the stock seat belts suck.

Anyone know if it is ok to drive a little way with fresh install sc without the reflash? If I install on my own I need to drive it to dealership to get the reflash.

It makes sense to get better brakes when increasing your HP significantly with the SC, maybe some slotted rotors & better brake pads?

Upgrading the brakes with increased horsepower is primarily for race/track cars because your going to be approaching corners with much higher speed.

It wouldn't hurt, but as long as he's not out racing it he'll be fine.

Besides, the Tacoma brakes are pretty darn good. But repeated high speed stops or towing overloaded is what's going to cook them.

What shocks are designed for them? I was thinking billies because that seems to be one of the more popular/successful combos. Are ome shocks better? Price difference?
