Idk looks really nice but I picked up my 2010 with less than 30,000 miles on it for around 20k. Still a nice first gen though.

Tough call on that. It's clean, but it's still a 12 year old truck that's going to need a timing belt in 40k.

Not likely to have been done with only 50k on it.

If you plan on keeping it, I'd say go for it. It has nice upgraded bumpers and ready for a lift. You could have many years of fun with it. However, if you think you might sell it in a few years, you will probably lose a good bit of money.

I don't think its a good deal. If the truck was a double cab then it would defiantly be worth 17k but since its only an extended cab I would say 15k is a good price. It for sure needs a timing belt even though the mileage is low

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Knock 10k off and it's a good deal.

Wow very nice truck. It's got a lot going for it like being the last good year model and a lack of ricer mods. Just a well put together truck. I think 15k would be more than fair.

Dang that's a clean truck! Lots of POSOTIVE things to entice a potential buyer, but I think a better price to sell would be closer to 14K. Like someone else said, "if it was a double cab" then I think $17k would be a great deal. IMO the seller is gonna sit on this for a while until the right buyer comes along willing to pay his asking price. I don't blame him though, if it was my truck I would price it high just like he is.

First gens are generally more desirable for offroad use because of their superior build quality and smaller size.

Superior build quality is open for debate.
The 2nd Gen has proven itself just as well as the 1st Gen... including the fact that they both have rust issues.
2nd Gen V6 also runs a timing chain, and both 4.0 and 2.7 have a larger fuel tank.
And 1st Gen isn't THAT much smaller. There's more difference in size between the 2nd Gen Tacoma and 1st Gen Tundra than there is between the 1st and 2nd Gen Tacoma.

Keep in mind that since 1996 I have owned a '94 (same size as 1st Gen, the doors and fenders would interchange), '03 Tundra, and my '08, so I am quite familiar with their relative sizes.

My take...if your like me the first gen's are the only trucks I look at (nothing wrong with others, just personal preference). One owner, low mileage trucks in this condition are desirable and very hard to come across, thus they command a premium. On top of that, this is a zero rust truck that has been in a no rust climate all it's life. ... Thanks for the input

I just might buy the fella

    OME and worth every penny.
while I realize the deals like the first comment are getting much harder I think it's way overpriced.

You're buying cash, right? I don't think a bank would come close to financing that......with good reason.

I thought tacomas were overpriced here. That's a $12k truck here tops. And I think 12 would've too much for an old truck. Wow!

I know for a fact that a credit union will finance if not paying cash, but you are looking at a $535 truck payment for 36 months at 10% interest. That might seem high but it will me more interest on an older truck. They won't finance anything that old over 36 months, even with the mileage.... might as well get a brand new one for 48-60 month financing for the same payment. plus lower interest rate.
