The waterfall you remember is at the head spring, back when it was privately owned and had a zoo with glass bottom boats
Now the state owns it and it sucks ... Can only swim in a 100ft area .and no motorized boats or fishing .. In the head spring

Mine have lockouts and fill plates .. Both of which I like
The lockouts work perfectly to pivot the truck off trees and such
Fill plates reduce spray up on truck and keep my dogs feet out

We have had alot of weddings where people get drunk and hurt themselves.. So my uncle had to pull an expensive insurance plan for when large gatherings
Hence the $$ required to rent this place

As long as I have a small group, we just sign waivers and no $ exchanged

If we're to have a large meet , we would need to bust out $$

I could probly get this fee reduced considerably , if we are serious about having a meet

But this place is super busy right now, since he has opened it to private reservation from public ... I'm saddened to see this place turn into an admission required establishment

But like Colin said , it's worth it

Rope swing, kayaks, tubes, canoes, showers, restrooms, full hookup camp sites, hottub, bicycles... Are included with the property usage

i've stayed in a lot of hotels the last couple of months for all of this business travel, and it's insane how much some of these places cost (not luxury places). that's even with the discounted company rate. makes 166 seem like a good price for a place that beautiful.

Thing is Colin , you would be in a tent at gissy springs unless you bring a camper

Bestwestern in Miami cost my company $220 a night , with state discount !!

 

god, hotels are outrageous.

 

Gissy looks like a really cool place! And I'd rather be in a tent than a hotel room, especially if the weather is perfect.

 

I'm up for late October/November if the crowds calm down.

This is just 15 or 20 min from my hunt camp, 328 & 150 just to the north. Insurance rates are killing everything that's fun. A lady got shot on our rented land and stuck the club for 10 k.,Insurance paid it and canceled us 60 days later. Now the land owner pays 18k. a year up from 11k. Everyone has been told next year rates for the hunt camp will be going up.

 

that's a shame. only takes one person to ruin it all

 

This lady walked off from the hunters to take a p and come back without saying anything & she was wearing a camo shirt .. Got #7 bird shot from about 70 or 80 feet & had to take a trip to the hospital. The shot did not break the skin but still put us on the hook for 10k.
