    I had not heard of it until you mentioned it. I think I am going to invest in one of those and then strip out the hex bit. I have no need for removing the tailgate in a hurry.

    2009 4WD Reg cab Taco. Keepin it simple.
    So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
    Sounds like something my brothers would do to me or I to them. Do you have video recorder going in your lot. Ours is watched and recorded 24/7 and catches some great pranks.

Insurance will cover it and I'll make one out of stainless:)

    I got a small dent and paint scratch on mine, after hearing about how many are stolen I decided to not get it fixed and got the Pop and lock tailgate lock!:D

    '13 tacoma dc, gry w/cam. i just put a plumbers strap around the passenger side deal-o that you pull off first to remove the tailgate. i'm talking about the male/female part that needs to be in that sweet spot before that tailgate goes anywhere. it'll at least slow them down, but it's def not full proof. i'd love to see the look on the guys face when he pulls my tailgate and bam..nothin!..it goes nowhere! :D:D ..hopefully he didn't bring tools :eek:

    I voted that as well, as a joke, because its stupid to have that on there as an option other than as a joke because I doubt anyone would answer that in all seriousness.

    I've never had a tailgate stolen. But I've had my spare stolen though. I'll be installing a lock for both however with this Baja for sure.

    How did you get it to fit? Do they make them for Tacomas now? I was trying to find one a few weeks ago and as of then, they didn't have them.
