So I've been horrible and not working on the truck for about 3 months. It's just sat in the garage. I sorta miss driving it so I am going to try hard to finish all my rebuild stuff on it and list it for sale. I'm hoping for two weeks. I have to exchange the rack as rock auto listed the wrong one. But it will be for sale very very soon. I've had it just seeing it sit there doing nothing and really want a 4runner. So if anyone would want a 4x4 supercharged full LT with fresh rebuild and no dirt miles since this will be the time. Going to list it for 16.5k obo. That's about what everyone else is getting for 2x4 and non supercharged.

I ordered new shims for the Fox's up front and the recommendation they provided for the stacks have worked out great performance wise!

Hello all. I'm sure this has been discussed multiple times, buuuut dont feel like reading threw 37k posts. Haha

    2008 tacoma Prerunner:
Will eventually go with " solo" L/T kit
    Or
    Camburg.

Have not decided yet, and it will not be decided for a year or 2. BUT I do want to get a spindle lift for the mean time.
I've only looked at camburg and maxtrac. Maxtrac is half the price so obviously it has aroused my curiosity.

Considering my position, what do you feel is the best spindle for the buck, and will any spindle work with any " mainstream" " bolt on" L/T kit?
And is there any other spindle I should consider? Keep in mind, I do not want to buy things twice on this build, want to do it right the first time and be done with it. And I will not be beating on this truck, but I do want a solid dependable truck in the end.

Maxtrac have a double shear mount and would need misalignment spacers to possibly work at all...

If going with LT you should get a fully fabbed spindle.

I would suggest Camburg. It's a fully fabricated spindle and you will be able to use it with the Camburg LT in the future. Just a very good, strong quality part.

Maxtrac are a good budget spindle, But I believe they are cast. Very difficult to weld to unless you have the proper equipment and skill. Also, I know a lot of the LT and other kit's do not like to work with them due to the bulky casting of the Maxtrac Spindle. For instance, The total chaos stock lower arms will not work with them. Speaking of TC, they make a nice spindle as well that's a 3.5" lift spindle also fully fabricated.

The Camburg would be more of a long run spindle for you. I can get you TW pricing on them if you like.

I was a little worried about the cast maxtrac spindle. And thank you for the information. I sent a PM for pricing on the TC spindle. Now, would the TC spindle work with either solo or camburg? ( I'm leaning more towards solo) or does solo recommend their own spindle? Because if the spindle will end up being replaced when it's time for LT, I would rather save my money and go with a cheap-o for now, considering I will not be taking it off road AT ALL until the front and rear are both done.

I believe Solo reccomends their own. Not 100% sure. TC makes 2, one for stock suspension, one for LT suspension. The lower mount is different I believe.

Best bang for your buck would be the Camburg option. Going with a Fully fab'd spindle, your resale value if needed will be better. The Camburg should work with any LT system in theory.

Right on. Thank you. I do believe I will be getting the camburg spindle, in the very near future.

The TC upright will not work with solos kit. Solo uses a vertical uniball built into the upright with their long travel kit.

Edit: I think I will just go with the maxtrac for now, just did some update reading, on solos web page. 3" lift spindle is included in the price of the kit, may as well keep it all one name. Minimize any confusion to come. I'll just run the maxtrac untill I have the money for the solo kit and sell the maxtrac for cheap when the time comes. Maybe it will cover the shipping cost or something... thank you guys for your input!
