i use Seafoam once every 4 months, but i put half in gas and half in vacuum line... then i put gas treatment in truck once every 2 months... I actually do see a difference with it.. right now i get about 22-23 MPG mix of highway/mountain/city...

I have heard nothing but good things about Techron.

I recently put Seafoam into the gas and a little into the oil of my tractor mower. Ran it for a bit and then sucked some through the carb. Yeah... white smoke. Changed the oil and I'll be damned if the thing doesn't run and sound better now.

Seafoam is awesome. I had an old 1991 Kawasaki ZX6 in the shed stored for 2 years. Carbs were gummed up and the gas was bad. Needless to say she wouldn't start. Half a can of Seafoam in the tank, left it overnight and she started up on the first try the next day!

Why in the oil? And one of the side effects of seafoam is white smoke. My favorite part of seafoam is the aggressive driving they suggest after you use it.:D

why not just use 93 octane instead of 87 and adding these additives.

I drove a couple Astro vans before getting my Tacoma. Tried using 87 and it would not drive the same as 93, wouldn't pick up speed. Ever since then I never used any other octane. Heard 93 burns cleaner and doesn't gunk up the engine as 87 does.

yea basically how it works most engines wont run any better with high octanes, they are harder to burn

Spray seafoam into a throttle body then scrub it will a toothbrush and you won't think its snake oil anymore.

There is a huge difference between spraying some on a part and cleaning it by hand, and just dumping it in the fuel tank and praying for the best.

I have used seafoam in all of my vehicles/boats/lawn mowers/engines over the years as a general preventative against gunk buildup. I add some to the gas tank maybe once a year. I add some to the crank case maybe 100 miles before I plan to do an oil change; not every oil change but maybe every 3rd or 4th. I spray some into the carbs on my '79 Mercury outboard every year as part of my de-winterizing routine...still runs like a top.

A few months ago my son call me and told me his Pathfinder wasn't starting, and asked for my help. I started troubleshooting it; no codes, gas in the tank, strong battery; sounded like it wanted to start but just wouldn't. I finally could get it started using starter fluid sprayed into the air intake, but thats the only way. If I turned it off and tried to start it again, it wouldn't start (even hot) without starter fluid. Mind you, even though he is my son, PM is the last thing on his mind. I decided to "SEAFOAM" the vehicle... I added a can of seafoam to the tank, some to the crancase, and ran some trhough the brake-booster vacuum line. Well what do you know, it then started on its own and continued to do so...no issues...problem solved. I honestly don't know if he had bad gas or gunked up fuel system (or both?). Point is, the Seafom worked...that's all I did.

My 0.02 is why spend an extra 8 bucks on a tank of gas 4x a month when i can put a can of seafoam in every six months for the same price

If you have a 21 gal tank and filling every last drop. The 93 octane over 87 is only an extra $4.20 and that's if you're at empty to begin with. Plus 93 does not clean better. And the price above is assuming premium over regular is 20¢ more

I have used Seafoam in my last few vehicles and have had relative success with it. I am by no means a chemist or researcher who can validate Seafoam to be the exact and only cause to the vehicles running better, but anytime I have treated my cars it has also improved the driving experience such as idling and fuel economy. For instance, I recently purchased my 2012 DCSB Sport with 8,000 miles on it. I drove it around a few weeks and was getting between 18-19 mpg with 70/30 highway and city driving. Put in a can of Seafoam into an empty tank, filled it up, and the last two runs I have made between fill-ups have yieleded between 20-21.3 mpg driving under the same circumstances as before. Was Seafoam the cause? I can't definitely say yes, but I would say there is a strong correlation to it being largely attributable to better vehicle performance.

I voted no to this...then I started to do some research on bobstheoilguy lol. Anyways apparently the chevron techron concentrate plus has been getting alot of positive feedback from several different forums. Soooo...I just ordered some from advance auto parts and it was on sale $4.99 a bottle! All the other sites I checked was $12 per bottle. Here's the link to advance if anyone wants to try some. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/chevron-techron-complete-fuel-system-cleaner-12oz-67740/7081073-P

lol so for me that would be 16.80 extra a month to run Premium in my truck seeing as i fill up about 4 times a month.. so seafoam every 6 month vs $100.80 extra in gas... id rather spend 8.00 in seafoam every 6 lol...
