:pukes: 10k is purple. Say goodbye to visibility.
I would have picked 5k since that's what I currently run, but 4300k is close enough.

btw.. 4300 is about as pure white as you're going to get. Anything else just diminishes white light and makes it harder to see.

When I was purchasing mine I was told the 6000k were whitest. After being here I know they are somewhat blue, if I had to do it again I would go less maybe 5000k or 4300k. I don't mind the ones I have and can see very well with them. Very important to get your lights aimed after you install these especially if you have a lift or leveling kit.

I don't freaking understand this shit! What is an HID Kit? Does it replace the bulb or the whole light housing? Are the lower numbers brighter or more expensive?

Are these just to give your lights a different color or do they make it easier to see (than stock)?

I would only consider it if it makes nighttime driving safer (for me to see and people to see as they drive past me). I don't want to blind anyone and I don't want to give up visibility for a color change. Sorry if this is off topic...I'll leave if it is.

HID is High Intensity Discharge. The larger the number the more the color changes. These lights are white, blue and Purple. The 4300 is very close to white going up the scale the 6000 is slightly blue, with the 8000 being purple. This is a direct replacement kit, you will have 2 ballast boxes and all the wiring and bulbs. 30min of work. I love mine in the fog and rain. I can see so much better. The first few days or should I say nights with them your eyes will have to adjust but one you do it is amazing. As for blinding people that will fall on you. If they are properly adjusted they will not blind other drivers.

personaly I like my stock lights just fine. HIDs really arent worth installing unless you do a retro IMO. without a retro you will just end up blinding everyone on the road.

but if i had to choose one of those options i would do the 6k hi/low

^ a retrofit would be your best bet then.

here is a chart that shows the differences in colors and bulb types....

    hid_6651e306df3a6e55d1cdb6d1c05f865833ae8f11.jpg

HID kits replace the the bulb only, but also include ballasts and sometimes require a relay kit as well (wiring harness).

the higher the number the less bright they are. they go from white (5k) to purple (12k).

if you want HIDS but dont want to blind oncoming traffic, you need to do a projector retrofit which will give the light a clean cutoff line rather than scattering the light everywhere (which looks like you have your brights on).

here is an example of a clean cutoff (projectors)...
