When I bought my Tacoma they had screwed the front license plate into the bumper. I personally dont like the plate there but will be left with two ugly holes if I remove it. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Put the plate on and forget about it. It's a ticket in California, a stupid one but a ticket none the less.

at least you didnt use too much power in your drill when taking the screw out i ended up pulling the plastic with it so now the hole pokes like 1/8'' out

Yea i live in Cali and i just recently put my front plate on after 4 years. Too many of my friends were getting tickets for not having one. I say put the plate on and be on your way, but if you want to keep that clean look i believe there are plugs you can buy at any automotive place. I've seen a few people on here who've done it.

Dealer here in Chicago was nice enough to ask me if I wanted the front license plate on before he drilled the holes.

I decided to take my chances...

But I'm thinking maybe a bull bar in the future, so I'm thinking I'll eventually mount the license plate onto there. Meanwhile, if I get pulled over, I'll say my bull bar is on back order and if they cut me a ticket..take it court. These tickets are almost usually dismissed in my area.

Mine had a plate on it when I bought it...and I made them fix the holes and they resprayed the bumper. Which, I think the paint is starting to bubble up.

You should be able to get little 'plug inserts' to put in the holes. Atleast it'll cover up the holes and look 'clean'.

Someone here or another forum had some speedway blue ones...so there's gotta be a way to buy whatever color you need.

I bought $2 plastic inserts and sprayed them with Duplicolor that kept on peeling off, so I finally got hosed by these guys: -
http://www.bumperplugs.com/ - over priced even though its a good product and the color match is perfect

My Law enforcement buddies told me it is common now for some cities to pull you over for this as a reason to check for DUI.
While they got you there if you haven't been drinking but have other mods to your car like tint expect fix-its for them too.
Really bad in LAPD territory especially the beach areas.

In arizona we don't need a front plate, but my truck came from cali, so, I'm stuck with holes. Thanks for the suggestion on the plugs spearhead.
