Depends on what you're going for. Different strokes for different folks. I do dig this one though.

No I didn't tint my windshield. I was thinking about getting a 5%, or 20% strip from the ASI line up but decided against it... if I want I can go back but they'll stiff me $50. Probably isn't worth it since it's cloudy 250 days out of the year here in Seattle

    lol what the heck happened?

Well hopefully that plastic fan isn't too expensive... but then again everything Toyota is expensive if it isn't toward your newest mod :p

Finally got my CB tuned. After many frustrations I ended up drilling out the pretty hole in my powder coated BAMF mount to get a proper ground on my antenna. I redid a coax connection as well but I don't think that was the issue. Got it to an SWR reading of 1.5 on channels 1 and 40. Good enough for me.

No doubt it's a solid CB mount, my Dad and I were both impressed with it

Well I sanded it and my truck before and it still had issues. Then I drilled out the hole and it fixed it. The Threads on the stud were contacting the mount as it went through the hole. So drilling it out allowed the shoulder on the nylon washer to fit in the hole and insulate it from the mount.....at least that's what I figured.

 no kidding haha. Crisis averted! I did get a lot more proficient using a multimeter and a hair better with a soldering iron, that's for sure. I took a break from my CB and used the multimeter to figure out what was wrong with my dads shrimp pot puller motor. Then he proceeded to break the circuit board clean in half instead of soldering a new wire on it...face palm haha.

That's right, not a whole lot of other options for that particular mounting area. I know what you mean, my 3' antenna & spring make it wiggle, though not much... but still

Yeah I only have a 3 footer and it does flex it a little. Nothing bad at all though. I think it's perfect for my application. I am getting a ham radio in the future though. So this has been a ton of work for no reason basically lol.
